Sooooo amazing!! =^^= Especially the tour video is soooooo emotional and it looks and feels 10000 times more immersive and amazing than FFXI Online (but of course FFXI is still amazing too.) PS3 version looks really close too, mew. OH LOOK Gilgamesh and CLOUD OF DARKNESS confirmed!!!! http://www.finalfantasy.net/wp-conte...3/02/chars.jpg =0.0=

Well, not surprising, considering that the graphical improvements of this game over FFXI are like comparing a crude cave drawing of a stick figure model and a high resolution color photography of someone like Koda Kumi.

FFXI Online still is beautiful from that dimension of art, mew. (just like Vagrant Story still is beautiful art despite later SE games having better graphics.) Oh yea and now people can't say PS3 is holding back PC, the Tour comparison video shows PC can still look much better, and PS3 still looks great too, even better than PC FFXI.

It was not just the art that FFXI PS2 was holding back on PC. It was everything. However, considering that the game is already being developed for the PS4, that might not be an issue, and I just hope they abandon whoever continues to play the game on their PS3 if it comes down to a decision of butchering the game or alienating a few "cheapo" players ...

PS4 would pricedrop 2-3 times before SE decides to drop support for PS3 version in favor of the PS4 version, mew. Also PS3 harddrive space is upgradable, so if anything, they'll just require PS3 players to get a bigger harddrive if updates/expansions require more room. simply dropping PS3 support is risky because PS3 itself could generate at least thousands of paying subscribers. maybe tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands depending on region.

Storage isn't a problem. I'm already seeing limitations to what the PS3 can handle graphically (the choppy clips, some lag and even some artifacts here and there shows an old system being pushed to its limits and not running the game optimally) You have to remember, the lack of RAM (we beat this dead horse already) is the true bottleneck, and when you have graphical elements, AI-physics and input all trying to prioritize the pipelines, it becomes an ordered chaos at best, and probably a repeat of 1.0 on the other end.

PS3 is only around 70% optimized, mew. I read it's still in alpha, so the trailers are no indication how well it performs for launch, mew. Even if they adjust the graphics so it's smoother like PS2 FFXI, it will be still enjoyable and presentable. Yes, it could lag a lot with large group events, but now with the instanced dungeons, and phase 3 optimizations, FFXIV ARR will be comfy at launch. The engine was already rebuilt with PS3 in the formula, so it's just a matter of testing it to polish it more just like the PC Alpha test has improved the PC version. SE also brought Sony experts to help with the PS3 coding.

Dat Tour of Eorzea video -- feeling the hype.

Helps I couldn't really give the original FFXIV any proper attention due to lack of a good PC or PS3, so it's almost a new game to me.

people seem to keep forgetting that they designed the new engine with scalability in mind, so the PC will always look the best, and the PS3/PS4 versions can be scaled according to system.

LOVE the new Limsa, and I really love the redesigns of the elementals - they don't look like stupid faeries anymore.
