    http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/blog/post/191

    Hello everyone! Fernehalwes back again.
I mean, seriously. I leave Pinurabi alone for one minute, and he’s off gallivanting about, pretending to be King of the Blog. This is simply unacceptable, so to teach the bad boy a lesson, I’ve locked him up in the utility closet where we store all our overstock tonberry plushies. That should give him something to think about.
    Now then...
Back on Tuesday, Yoshi-P had everyone on the FINAL FANTASY XIV development team participate in a half-day play test of the soon-to-be-released Beta Version. Sure, it was the perfect chance to sift through the content and find bugs or whatnot, but it was also an opportunity to take a step back and experience the game as players, and that in itself was just plain fun.
In addition to watching a bunch of new quests...
...some of us partied up and tried our hands at the Full Active Time Events (FATE)...

...while some of us did runs through the new instanced dungeons...

...and then there were those of us who just spent four hours in the Adventurers’ Guild harassing that cute Lalafell in the short skirt and high boots.

    Good times!
    Fernehalwes

Sounds like a real-time raid event rather than instanced.

Re: Blog Post: This Is Not a Test

              I wonder...

Could it be that, because of the passing time (course of a day in an hour or so), that some outdoor bosses (or even instanced - just because you're in a dungeon doesn't mean time stands still) could change their appearance, their abilities and or their strengths, weaknesses? This could employ clever strategies to deal with these encounters. For example, say that a particular boss (and what would be cool is if there's a foreshadowing on this through normal NPC exchanges, quests or main storyline progression) was invulnerable during a certain time of day, then that will make it a challenge in itself to try to "claim" said boss (during this time, anyone trying to hold claim could easily be 1-shot by him)

Another scenario is if a mob has one appearance and then changes it (say, day and night) ... and he has a different set of abilities in that change. You could further this by changing the chances of an item drop on the time change, or many other things.

              The mind boggles...

So... open world abyssea minus the OP buffs and some of the gimmicks?

Yah I could get behind that.
