Yeah, I'm using a 6 year old 2.1 GHz Core2 Duo, so it's definitely time to upgrade. Officially XIV wants a 2.66 GHz i7. I'm going to see about going to a 3.4 GHz i5 in the next few months.

I run a Core 2 Duo (quad) at 2.66 which is also 6+ years old and it runs it fine.

Remember, ARR has LOWER requirements than 1.0 did.

When i bought my pc it was time to upgrade lol.
there's a possibility that my laptop can run it with the new reduced settings but I don't like using it for things that arent work/course/cake related. I don't even browse the web on it often even though it would perform better than my pc.

Mal, you got secrets to tell? Any concrete date?

You have a quad, he's only a duo. Might make a difference, might not. We'll see...

We'll see when the benchmark is released.

The beta test site lists difference specifications than the chart I was looking at, which may refer to 1.0. Min processor spec is a Core 2 Duo, with the recommended being an i5.

I might as well sign up.

I ran 1.0 on a 2.5ghz duo. Game ran fine on medium/high settings, but that's because the game was GPU intensive. 2.0 will be better.

Well, the Duo meets the minimum requirements for 1.0 so I don't see why he shouldn't be able to run ARR.

Probably not as well as you'd LIKE to run it, but it should still work.

I think Etra's rig will run ARR just fine. By any chance, Etra, did you participate in ARR Alpha?

Hoping to see it enough to determine if this will be the MMO that gets me back into MMO's. My i7 on my desktop should run run it plenty fine but my desktop hasn't had a real challenge since I got it. Even 3 years later. What was 1.0's minimum video card memory requirement?

2 GB RAM and a GTX 260 I think for the bare minimum.

So, if I had to guess, it looks like holding L1~R2 and pressing either a corresponding face button or D-pad?

                              Could work.

Looked like shuffling through the four buttons with the D-Pad to me. I was just worried about having to span the entire skill bar like in 1.0 to get to a skill from the last.
