I was doing a test in case you know the beta invite requires logging in to that site

FINAL FANTASY XIV, The Lodestone

but it says this:


You could not log in because the service account in question is not registered.
If you would like to log in to the service, please log in to the Square Enix Account Management System and register the service account.


How do I register the service account? This is a silly extra hurdle, mew.

So I log into the Square Enix Account Management System. Then what????

So I go back to the XIV lodestone and it acts like I haven't logged in.

There were two accounts to Square-Enix in the past (3 if you count FFXI prior to FFXIV) When FFXIV 1.0 went into beta, FFXI and FFXIV accounts were folded in on an opt-in basis. As FFXIV was released, all accounts, including the separate Square-Enix Members (where you registered games to get points for prizes) were eventually folded into just one master account. However, where you log-in your account from is important, so you need to make sure you're on the right site. If you've registered on the Members site, make sure you were not redirected to the EU website, because that was a known issue a few weeks ago due to a scripting bug. Not sure if it's fixed.

And then there was a very recent change to logging-in as this notice shows:

Ya I got there then what? I logged in, but I dunno how to access the xiv lodestone without copy pasting the direct link.

but the green Log in tab is still there, like I haven't logged in! I registered in like 3 sites, mew!

so ya, lodestone really is strange trying to log in there. and the square enix message board is something totally different from the lodestone version of FFXIV

Ugh I been trying to get on the forums but I can't because I haven't logged into XIV in 30 days... but the game is down... so wtf?

yeah it is kind of stupid, can not log in, because you have not played for more then 30 days, yet you can not play as servers are shutdown, so there is no way to log into the forums -.-

I logged into FFXIV the night before the server went down, so I guess I don't have the same issue. I'm also seeing the Lodestone page just fine, not sure what exactly j9 is having problems with (at first, thought it was difficulty in logging into account, but now it sounds like something else entirely)

Well I was on the game the night they took the servers down so... wtf? And the day before.

But it keeps giving me that damn message.

Maybe it is related to the authentication token thingies? I have one associated with my account and so far I haven't had any login problems.

It's not that, I have one too and I entered my info the same as usual. It simply said that I haven't logged into the game in the last 30 days and so it won't let me log into the forums - which is just stupid, why isn't simply having an SE account good enough?

it was an anti troll thing they had on the forums, it was to keep people who where not playing the game off the forums. Of course no one is playing right now, people are reporting locked out one by one ;p Beta Forums should be open soon though, so everyone will slowly move over there as more and more are accepted.

You've been having all sorts of bad things happen to you because of your account. Maybe you're just really unlucky. But J9 never played this game, so I can see why his/her account isn't working well.
