BRILLIANT SE, FUCKING BRILLIANT! The one thing we've been dying to see forever now, that would probably really help generate interest in the game, and they won't show it to us.

At this point i'm more frustrated with The Last Guardian being a no-show YET AGAIN than anything SE is showing or not showing.

        Supposedly it's been canned.

At the very least, it's been sidelined. Sony has chosen NOT to renew the name license.

what is your problem, Mal? They show a video demonstration at gamescom, release new screenshots, and there will be an upcoming beta people can sign up for! All the "realtime presentation" in the world is not going to 100% convince people until beta or launch. Videos of any kind would not sustain interest like the beta and the launch will. At least they are not tight in a nutshell like Valve is with Half-Life 3, mew. There will still be updates. It's better than giving it all away too early. You act like a real-time presentation now would cause people to think "Okay, I'm buying this day 1". That won't happen with any mmorpg, at least not until the beta starts and more people are convinced. And especially launch which will be the official period where the majority will decide whether to jump in or not based on launch reactions and stuff. They still have the rest of this month, Sept, Oct. to build interest. Everyone will be talking about FFXIV as the launch nears.

                >< oh mew. well your reaction just shows the marketing is working! They give people a little nibble and ppl want more! So they give more little by little, then wooosh! by the time beta starts or launch, everything is exposed and everyone will be pleased to buy FFXIV and enjoy it, mew!

Yoshida stated that they'll show something during the 25th anniversary event.

Why is the gameplay video posted in the other thread not good enough? It HAS to be real time?

                      You people make no sense.

Personally, at least for me, because the quality of said video f'in blows. It's shakey-cam, out of focus, and on top of everything like 320xwhatever resolution.
It was a fantastic video (from what I could tell). I don't really care about real-time or no, I just want better quality than caffeine-jittered-camera-phone quality.

                        Heck, maybe even english.

I wouldn't expect a real time presentation to have better quality. Also, it's in German. I speak none of it what-so-ever, but it's pretty straight forward what he's saying if you're watching the video along with it. (The real-time presentation would of been in German, anyways, if shown at this venue.)

True. I could kinda get the gist of what was being said, but somethings escaped me. I forgot this was a German thing.
Okay fine, can I at least get some in-focus footage? Haha.

I'm actually glad they didn't do a livestream. The choppy feed, German-language and a bunch of fat people swarming for swag isn't going to sell this game.

They'll put out an updated trailer at some point and I rather see that in HD than to worry about crappy quality streams with nerds raging over the quality of the streams and not talk about the game one bit.
