Honestly, I don't get it either. For all the effort SE's put into this relaunch it just feels like they're not making the right moves to promote it. Hell, XIV was their headliner at Gamescon, yet no one's talking about it on IGN, GT or the other major sites (I've only seen it at Joystiq/Massively)

I don't think SE wants to promote it just yet. If they promote a relaunch right now, many people (idiots?) will look to the current game and think that's what 2.0 will be. When the game shuts down for data transfer, I think we'll be seeing more advertisements. As it stands, they've already pulled the option to buy the game from their website and I know Gamestop doesn't even have it listed for PC anymore.

They're getting there, but slowly. The current information being released just seems to be for appeasing the current players and those "in the know."
