So yeah, I'm somewhat apprehensive about making this thread out of fear SE will catch on, but I wanted folks to know that right now EXP is fucking godly.


Especially for crafting. The increase in EXP from raising quality is astronomical - with rested bonus & a manual (no food bonus, I need to start stockpiling food) I was easily breaking 1200+ per synth on a level 30 smithing leve.

What the crap?! Even on regular synths, without rested exp, you can net 1k+ easily on synths that are about your level if you get the quality around 100 or more. Even on failures now, Careful Synthesis still raises quality - about as much as it would pre-patch on a success. On Successed I've had it go up as much as 140% on low level recipes. Crafting has *never* been easier, omfg. Now is absolutely THE time to be powerleveling each end every craft you want as I'm pretty sure there's a nerf coming. I sincerely doubt SE meant to crank up the EXP this much.

Combat leves are a lot better as well - I managed around 6~7k exp from 2 leves at bloodshore as a 26 (now 27) GLA with +6 to mob levels so I could chain them. I was getting around 400~450 exp a kill.

I'm getting 700 or so exp on mobs 3-4 levels above me. Completion of leves are around 3-4k w/o rest. With rest, I'm breaking 1k easily on chain #1. You have to understand, though, that the exp would be a lot if you did things higher than your current level. Now, I went back to Bloodshore to do my usual 5 star quests and got really crappy exp, on both target mobs and leve completion. So again, exp will be substantial, tackling something that's higher than yourself.

That's not to say that they won't scale down the exp, which I think they might, but they'll study the rate of progression among new players and old players leveling new jobs/classes. If they feel that people are progressing too fast, they'll dial down the numbers. I can't imagine them doing so too much ... maybe a 25% decrease in gains, because prior to this patch, the pendulum was on the other side.

(Edit: on normal, non leve mobs, the exp will be lower ... around 40% lower for same levels. Also do note the leve mobs will hit softer and have less health)

You can easily reach 2-3k per synthesis if you focus on quality w/o exp scroll. Just make sure you use cross class abilities to raise your quality to the 200-300 mark.

DoL EXP is crazy too.

Was doing a leve, no rested EXP, 25 Miner at Cedarwood (30 camp) and got 4600+ per item with Sweat of Brow active... wtf!

I was doing a R20 Botany leve last night and was getting 2,100 for every successful chop. I only had rested bonus on. No manual. It got me from 15-18 in 2 leves. I stopped of course because that was all I needed for the Materia quest

I think we all forget they got rid of Guardian Aspect or whatever it was called. This is the effect that is on all the time when you do leves.

I used to take low level leves and just let the timer run out on them while I knew I was going EXPing. It gave me a free 30min EXP boost. Who can complain about that?

My Exp still sucks compared to soloing, and I don't see an increase of exp, even after the patch. I don't know... I'm only getting maybe 15 extra exp now since the past last went live. -Shrugs.-

Does the XP bonus apply to other mobs? I seem to recall it not working on anything other than leve's. Unless it was patched that is.

what's this xp scroll you're talking about??? I've never heard of it.... Also, where do i go to get the rested bonus thing?

You need to do the small quest you get by talking to the Inn npcs in each city (you can get 3 rooms) and then just go in. There you can replay cutscenes which is a pretty neat feature.

If you go to the merchant NPC at the Grand Company counter of your choosing (the one on the left) and scroll through their list of wares.... you'll see scrolls for sale in exchange for seals. They give you a boost of 50% XP gain rate for 2 hours or 4000 exp... whichever comes first. The Tier I scrolls cost 200 seals. The Tier II scrolls cost 400 seals but offer you 3 hours and or 9000 exp.

Think of them like Emperor Rings and Empress Rings in XI. Same idea.

There is a scroll available for DoH and one for DoL classes. They sell them seperately. I know the DoH one is called "Engineering"... but I forget the land one "Harvesting" maybe?

The best part is that they stack with Rested Bonus as well as food bonus for a Grand total of 103% base increase. Epic.
