I've only got around 2.2 mil myself. Back in the day though, when even just the R15 leves would give like 20k+ gil it was stupid easy to amass gil - especially with leave sharing, because everyone you shared with would also get like around 8 or 10k gil just for participating. So a group of 8 could all spam the same leve together taking turns and end up with a few hundred grand in like 10 minuites.
