I make it a point to log out inside the inn every night. The next day I play, especially on a work week, I have roughly 40% of my bar (up to 60% was the highest since that was during maintenance) where I receive 50% on everything that I can get exp on -- on any class, hand, war, land or magic. I don't use scrolls since it's only for 4,000 exp and you can get that from just doing one leve but if you got the seals, I say, go for it.

The books are useful only if you're stacking all of your bonuses together. If you're just using them alone... don't bother. Seals are expensive.

Seals are proving quite the pain to amass at my current rank

but I imagine once I'm 50 it'll be a snap. 200 really isn't that much, it just seems like a lot in the beginning. I'm currently at around 2560 or something like that, still saving up for my chocobo. I missed out on opening ceremonies event thingy (can't recall the name for the life of me) where you got 2x seals and could buy the 2 special items that are only available for that event (I think one was a necklace and the other a ring or something?)

And the DoL is Survivalist Manual I think, something like that anyway.

It was Foundation Day or something like that, where they wish to show their appreciation to the players that were still playing at the time (sometime in September of last year) I didn't get back into the game (I was off and on sporadically) until late November and then not until late last year after a short hiatus.

I still got my chocobo license in short order. The whole process took no more two days for me with a full aethyryte (or w/e).

Yeah that was the name, Foundation Day.

Really hoping that's an annual thing... Aside from trading in the odd crafted item, I'm having a rather rough time earning seals. I'm still too low (only GLA 27) to effectively farm Casseopia Hollow for seals.

I just do the provision missions.

Black Sole was one of the items they needed yesterday. There was a guy selling 4 stacks of them for 100gil/each. I bought all 4 stacks and traded them in for a 3/1 seal to fish ratio. 40k gil. The next cheapest Sole was selling for 1000/each. I think I just got lucky.

Either way... don't count those missions out. They can net you some seriously easy seals if you're willing to pay for them.

If you go to the merchant NPC at the Grand Company counter of your choosing (the one on the left) and scroll through their list of wares.... you'll see scrolls for sale in exchange for seals. They give you a boost of 50% XP gain rate for 2 hours or 4000 exp... whichever comes first. The Tier I scrolls cost 200 seals. The Tier II scrolls cost 400 seals but offer you 3 hours and or 9000 exp.

Think of them like Emperor Rings and Empress Rings in XI. Same idea.

There is a scroll available for DoH and one for DoL classes. They sell them seperately. I know the DoH one is called "Engineering"... but I forget the land one "Harvesting" maybe?

The best part is that they stack with Rested Bonus as well as food bonus for a Grand total of 103% base increase. Epic.

I also found a Qiquirn that sells scrolls as well for 10k for the same bonuses. I will upload a pic soon.

Yeah I tried doing a caravan mission in Skull Valley thinking it'd be easy...

So that's what the guards are talking about when they say some of the Aetherpasses made it out of the Companies. XD

I'm definitely buying them all when I get the gil for it.
