Leveling... whats my best bet?

So I'm just outside of Camp Horrizon and I'm on my LV 26 Conj...

I'm just endlessly killing Cactuar because they 2 shot easily. I still can't quite get the hang of this combo system and can't find any information to help explain it. Someone wana teach me to use it properly? I've noticed that if I manage to combo chain things, I double and tripple my EXP... but without it I'm barely getting 90xp/mob

What level are the mobs? You can chain mobs that are your level, and higher.

First chain goes from 80 seconds, at +20%, to 60 seconds +30%, 40 seconds to 40%, 20 seconds to 50%, then 10 seconds then after at 60% max.

The combos tell you what you have to do to use them correctly. They can get some time getting used to, but they are powerful. I don't think CNJ has any combos though.

You need to target em+ mobs Yggy. For the sake of safety I usually only go with mobs 2 lvls above me to cut on downtime and get chain 5.

Also, the combo system goes like this:

Yggy: "Thunder!"

*Icon displays at the top of the screen and the Thundara Icon is highlighted to show you can perform a combo.*

Yggy: Thundara!

*Enhanced magic attack goes off, stuff dies.*

Yggy: /dance



Notes:
1) You need to cast the spells in succession. If you cast another spell you lose the combo bonus even if you still have time on the timer.
2) You can use job abilities like Parsi or Necro and it wont affect the bonus.
3) You can target a completely different mob to use the enhanced spell on. (The combo is on your side, rather than a status inflicted on the enemy.)

PS > Rampart, Protect, Second Wind and Cure will make your THM close to invincible on mobs up to 5-ish levels above you depending on gear.

If you can find a party, the diremites around Nophica's Well or w/e are amazing. You need a lot of AoE though as they can get quite nasty (they're level 33+)

Chaining leve mobs at lvl 23 I can get more than half a level doing a single 4x Leve run, which takes like 15 mins. So while I'm dreading reaching higher levels I seriously doubt the grind would ever get anywhere near what XI required just to skill up your job.

So yeah, soloing all the way FTW. And you get a ton of gil in the process.

Leve mob EXP is shit compared to normal mobs.

While that may he true, you do get money for leves. And, some times I like to take it nice and slow.

Nowhere near as much as you used to, and if I'm going to get gil from leves it may as well be from crafting or gathering leves since those activities in and of themselves = money.

Leves are better than soloing mobs imo, but no where near as good as party xp. Leve's will give you 3k xp with guardian favor, plus 150 exp per mob. That's better than soling a mob.

Not at all, at least not in the lower levels.

Even fighting Leve mobs that are higher level than I am I still get less EXP than I would for a standard mob at my own level or even a few lower - and that's with GA on. Leve mobs have more HP than regular ones too...

yeah but you're forgetting the extra 3k xp you get for leve completion every 10-20 mins...
