My path companion is a total slut, she's awesome. It's implied that she sleeps around to get information, though my character never gets any action.

As for a peeve, I hate trying to get people to help with the Dragoon quest. It might be a bit early for me to want to be a dragoon (level 30) but I want that first quest done!

Just camp the DRG spot for a bit. You'll see a few people (hopefully), that may be willing to help, while doing a shout/farming.

As for my peeve, people who don't want to party. I'm killing stuff 2-3 levels higher than me with ease, and twice as fast as some melee people. They are 1 level higher than me, with the best gear at their level. I ask them to party, saying faster kills = faster exp, they say no, and start ranting at me when all the spawns are gone because I killed them all... -Sighs.-

Is she a CNJ Mithra? 'cause maybe we got the same NPC. XD

She is annoying, I just wanted a cute Mithra CNJ to heal me but got more than I bargained for. Not only she wasn't cute at all, but she has only healed me ONCE.

Yes, mine's a Mithra Conjurer, and practically all she does is heal when we're in combat, it's great. Besides the sexual tension between my character and her, I'm very happy with having her as my path companion. =P

Not really a peeve, but more like a lulz.

FUUUUUUUU BLM. Most useless piece of crap job ever.

Not only the quests are stupidly tough (meant to force you to party, which I completely hate) but the job itself is a joke. It may reinforce my theory of Eorzea being Vana 50000 years later with stuff like Sha(n)totto's soul, but Convert and lolFreeze are in no way shape or form worth losing Protect, Rampart, Stoneskin and Stone/Aero for. I wonder who decided to only allow Archer and PGL skills on BLM, and more importantly why they let him/her make the decision while on drugs. Fortunately BLM AF is also trash and looks awful so I wont be missing out on anything by dropping BLM.


TL;DR - THM all the way, and hoping they don't screw up RDM if they add it. <_<;

BLM does have its uses as its DPS output is significantly higher than THA, but levelling and the old instances were build with THA in mind and not BLM.

The new instances are built with the new jobs in mind so the lack of support activities isn't such a major problem, and BLM does do more damage than THA in these fights.

In terms of pure felxibility in the content pre patch 1.21 however THA is definatly the way to go.

While yes... I do miss the idea of Having cure and protect, its quite easier as monk than PGL. lol

I'm just a bit confused as to why they would give Mnk Archer skills though... Not something like GLD or some other melee....

When would you ever be in range to use a ranged attack...

Can you use that acc boost move as MNK? Because if so, then that makes sense, cause H2H (if you go back to the early days of FFXIV and then back to FFXI) was completely reliant upon landing blows on monsters, i.e., TP gain.

Yes, Hawk eye can be used by other classes.

For BLM it only has a the move that consumes (a lot) of MP to negate a ranged attack magic or projectile and some Chameleon thing that's supposed to lower enmity. Edit > MNK has access to those too of course.

It's not that I don't want to party, it's that I don't want partying to get in my way. \(-_-)

Meaning, that while I do enjoy cooperating with people to get stuff done (like the first trials in XI) I completely despise being forced to wait for a party to advance (like with forced party missions and quests) 'cause I still don't have the ability to spawn other players to help me out of thin air and I much rather do anything else than wasting my limited playtime waiting for other people.

I understand that point Takelli, but Ray also has a point in that when you're soloing (questing) the abilities should have some merit/usage there, and not just *only* for party. Many (and I don't say this lightly) other MMOs do not make this separation with "core" or "main" abilities, only with secondary or "talented" abilities. Job abilities are not talented because SE never introduced a "secondary" ability palette.

If the system was made in a perfect world, after you obtain and complete each "job" quest, you should be given an option to "choose" between two or three skills that relate to your particular playstyle. I'm not saying that SE should put emphasis on solo play, but that it shouldn't discourage or punish solo play either. Fortunately, Yoshi-P understands this, but there is still more they can do and I hope they can address this deficiency for flexibility for 2.0.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up Ray. Was just wondering.

As for Peeve:

The mob level spread. Walking about a level 5 area, trying to find stuff to kill, only to run into aggro stuff that's lvl 73+, just to find stuff that's level 7 on the other side of them. WTF?
