I only wonder what this means for people who will join the party when it drops for PS3-4/FuturBox720...

???Will servers be locked still or will SE continually rework this game so new players eventually have the ability to choose whichever server strikes their fancy? Can new players (non-transfers) choose any server they want currently????

It's not a major concern since it's a while (1-2 yrs) away but if I am to play FFxiv, I'd hope I could join you people eventually.

- March 1st - March 12th is when we can freely pick and re-pick our destination servers. Even if you've registered you can still change your mind during this time period and re-pick (assuming space is available)

- March 12th at 0:59am PDT, any server that is deemed "Full" by SE will be locked. This means if you are registered to it... that's where you're going. Period... end of story. This also means that if you were not registered to one of those servers, you can no longer pick them. If you're in you're stuck in... if you're our you're stuck out. Simple.

- March 13th - March 19th... openings will continue as normal (excluding the locked out servers and the people who are in them). They call this "Phase 2".

- March 27th there will be an all world maintenance that will take place for an undisclosed amount of time (probably a while) while they finalize the mergers. Anyone who did not pick a new server will be auto-merged into the predetermined servers listed below. When they're finished... we can log into our new server and resume play.

When the servers merge... if there are players with the same name... the person who had theirs the longest gets to keep it. The same goes for the names of your retainers. Linkshells with the same name are slightly different. The Linkshell with the most active members will keep their name.

Also yes... you are auto-merging with Durandal.

The pre-determined servers look like this:
*If you didn't pick a new server yourself... this is how you'll be distributed automatically

Selbina -> Ridill
Wutai + Gysahl -> Masamune
Rabanastre + Cornelia -> Durandal
Melmond + Figaro -> Aegis
Istory + Mysidia -> Gungnir
Saronia + Lindblum -> Sargatanas
Fabul + Besaid -> Balmung
Trabia + Kashuan -> Hyperion
Karnak + Palamecia + Bodhum -> Excalibur
*Ragnarok (European Suggested Server)

Know what? Let's all go to Ragnarok and leave Mezlo in Durandal forever alone. That will force us to play together and/or learn French and German.

Which would be good either way.


Unless... French and German players don't actually move there... in which case it will be just us. <_<;


Also, fun fact: All my characters were in both Trabia and Kashuan, so I'd end up in Hyperion either way. Which means fate dictates I should stay in Hyperion.
