It's mostly a trivial/aesthetic thing, but I honestly never liked being forced to be a part of Bismark.

eh yeah I could understand that, you should read some of it though, people crying "omg SE is breaking apart the comunity" and crap like that.... people really like to dial up the drama. One guy is even going as far as saying Yoshi-P hates linkshells lol.....

This... this may make me re-sub.

I've been dragging my feet on the notion of coming back to XIV ever since all the changes started happening... but the thought of everyone being together on one unified server would be enough to convince me.

I think I'd be inclined to agree that World 9 seems like a good option. Given that there are no names yet... I have a feeling that the FF fanboys are going to flock to "Sector 7". That's exactly where I plan... NOT to be.

I'll join you on w/e world you pick. Best to play with people you know than go at it alone

I think some of them are just butthurt that they'll end up on servers where there's more activity and competition economy-wise. Merging the servers will improve the community and give the impression that you're not playing some game in isolation.

First things first... gotta resub in time to pick my own server. At least I can link ffxi and ffxiv's billing so that it reduces the monthly cost. That's always a plus.

XI gets reduced to $7, but only if XIV is already active and paid for when XI's bill comes in, and only for 3 months, then you're paying full for both - which I think is BS.

In order to ensure that the most desirable and effective outcome is achieved, we will be reassessing the method of the merger process.

New details on the World merge will be made public as they become available in the Topics section of the Lodestone.

* The original announcement on the World merge and character transfers has been removed.

Kinda surreal seeing SE responding or even acknowledging player feedback this fast.

Sooo... It's the same exact thing... Except everyone on your server that didn't do an optional transfer goes to the same place.
