It's $6.99, plus $3 per character. It'll work out to be about the same price as an FFXI subscription once the regular prices go into effect, as long as you have only one character.

Re: Regarding the Commencement of Billed Services (12/05/2011)

Extra characters should be 1 buck each, but I wouldn't make more than 1 character for now anyway. So there's no reason to pay more than $4.99 a month (with the 180 day option.)

Unless I'm reading it wrong, and the basic service doesn't include your first character that is. In which case... LULZ no thanks.

You're overreacting. There's no need to have more than one character per account, unless there are multiple people using the account, at which point you can split the costs. In the end, you aren't paying some exorbitant amount, and it'll help manage RMT numbers.

As long as RMT considerations play a part in the development of their MMOs S-E will continue to produce poor quality games no one outside of their dwindling loyal playerbase will consider playing.

Fact remains, they could offer the game for a cent a month and they'd still be ripping the players off. They essentially expect people to pay to test their unfinished product.

Yet again, overreacting; this time with the twist of nonsense.

Yet again, butthurt fanboi blindly defending a poor game with snide responses while displaying an inability to address any of the concerns raised in an adult fashion.

                  See how that works?

Try reading more, it'll help with your poor reading comprehension and apparent lack of intellect. Your lack of wit on the other hand is clearly beyond salvaging.

No, from launch to it's current state, and to expect payment still, it's just not there.

and with the massive ammount of inventory that you get with one character I can totally see how you wouldn't need mulitple retainers etc. I mean they're getting rid of alot of the +1,+2,+3 stuff so you still only need gear for your jobs...and crafting mats.... I can't do it anymore, If your happy your happy, I guess i just grew up a little (no not saying your young or any of that crap), just saying I am not going to pay for unfinshed stuff, and can find more productive stuff to do with my free time.

I mean they're trying to combat RMT when they still hold gil as the numero uno go to currency for all things worth while. You can see their starting to get rid of this with company points, but as long as there are folks that can power level their way to a 50 leather and 50 Blacksmith, there's going to be RMT.

It's just not fesiable to base an entire job class off of the economy.
All things aside, it just don't find joy in playing this game due to it's current state, and paying money for it is out of the question for me personally.

I think after the 2.0 rollout, they will allow you to purchase more retainers as well, at least that's what it appears. Either that, or you'll get one for free and then can pay extra for your second. Hmmm...

What annoys me, is that I was looking at the dual-sub offer and the discounted price for XI is only for 3 months. It's not constant, which is bullshit - I'm not paying full price for both games. What kind of ridiculous cock-tease is that SE?

Not that I intend to stick with XI much longer anyway (if I even do re-sub). I will say this though, 6-months for $30? That's not bad. Isn't that about the time we have left until 2.0 as well? Honestly you could do a lot worse.
