I am more interested in the new character creation options, and the fact that the UI is being rebuilt.

It seems I will dabble in my crafting off and on while they are doing all this, and once 2.0 is released, I will be set crafting wise.

will also take this time to try and become a better healer.....hell better magic user period ;p

The New FINAL FANTASY XIV and the PlayStation®3 System Version

Between October and December of 2012, we plan to integrate the current service and the coming PlayStation®3 version into the all-new FINAL FANTASY XIV. At this time, a second free trial period will also be offered.

Q4 2012 at the earliest for the PS3.

I'm just incredulous that despite the game being viewed as ready a year ago it's still going to take another year to release the game on the PS3 which will be considered an aging platform at that point. Cue PS3 limitationsâ„¢.

Wow.... the timing of my rant in the job thread, as well as on BG and on the XIV official forums, and then LITTERLY they drop this bomb on me....

I guess I'll actually keep playing if only to experience the one time, never repeated content.

You know the whole assets redoing and stuff. This 2.0 plan will make their work much easier mew since I heard version 1.0 that was crafted by the previous developer team made things longer and harder to make progress and produce more content and results at decent rate.

So good with all the new and big stuff they are adding, at sametime they are also making FFXIV almost from scratch with how it works and stuff so it's easy to develop for, mew! This in turn will make PC version much better earlier, and PS3 version start much better too, mew!

I wonder if Dancer and Ninja classes will be available at PS3 launch? Well there are other fun fun classes too. maybe at least Samurai will make it in, mew?

Ya, we're going to fix all these things, but you're going to pay for a year before we do.

Meh, paying for this or paying for11 or paying for Rifts or paying for WOW, I don't see much difference.
It's entirely possible not to play for the next year until 2.0 hits, and in the mean time, pay for something else.

I personally have been bored with ALL MMo's as of late, I'm looking forward to SW:TOR, but really i'm excited about TERA and GW2. I've never been a huge diablo fan, so the 3rd hasn't interested me to much.

I guess i'll just retire my 11 accounts and start paying/playing 14. If I play it (14) 30 minutes a day, that's 30 more minutes than i've been playin 11 lately.

I like the party buff status in the upper left corner. I'd have loved to use that in FFXI, provided it doesn't get too cluttered.

Interestingly from the FFXIV_2.0_Outline_EN.pdf

Add-ons are user-generated UI content created by fans from around the world for use within a company-developed game. Addons are customizable, and help to enhance the overall gameplay experience.

Looks like we are going to have user side UI mods that enable us to customise our UIs. Be interesting to see exactly where they draw the line with customisation.

Why do you think there will be zones now instead of the currently (mostly) seamless world.

Also, bad idea to start up subs right when the next big MMO (star wars) comes out. Reallyyyyy bad timing.

I was getting ready to stop all together with FFXIV, but after reading these notes, I am willing to take a gamble. I will be paying for FFXIV and I will fiddle in its world off and on till 2.0 comes..... if by then I still say to myself "meh" then I will drop it then and there and never look back.
