FINAL FANTASY XIV, The Lodestone

Yoshi has become the pillar supporting this whole project.

I'm reading the PDFs right now and I began tearing at one point, and right now, at work, I've had to deal with coworkers who think I'm not OK.

In any case... if Yoshi delivers half of what he's saying here... I dunno man, I dunno.

- Complete revamp of the UI
- New graphics engine (allowing us to re-choose our character's appearance included due to changes)
- Community functions, world-wide party searches... what?
- All races, all genders. It seems.
- PVP
- Player Housing
- Stuff I still haven't read... still on the first PDF.

... seriously, I know I'm depositing hope again on these guys, but Yoshi has proven himself so far, I believe him.

They also mention revamping retainers and markets (I hoped for abolishment rather than revamping, but we'll see).

That and UI improvements and it would be enough for me. Anything else is just ...

If this lives up to the PPP then 2.0 has the chance to be the game we hoped v1.0 was.

So yes I am very happy to see this, the future of this game has a glimmer of hope that wasn't there before, I may actually stick around after the F2P ends and see how it all pans out. I might actually get my crafting classes finished by then too..... maybe

These plans are quite sweeping and ambitious. 2013 seems distant for a relaunch considering it will be well over two years since the initial launch, but I can't imagine them compressing the timeline any further for a project like the one they're laying out. Good luck, XIV stalwarts. This looks promising.

There is still a glimmer of hope for FFXIV yet!

I just hope what Yoshi-P has promised really does get released. I would love to give this game another try, especially when it comes out to PS3.

They're abolishing seamless world maps. This will most likely mean we'll see more people shouting ZONE ZONE ZONE.

Auto gear change system? I expected this at launch. It makes a lot of sense.

There will also be PVP-specific gear and abilities.

I'm especially intrigued by the lower right corner icons. Where it shows gil and what it seems to be your inventory, minimized so that you get some information regarding what you're carrying around, I love the approach. I really hope that's what it is.
