    Purchased game/ require help

    I purchased the game last night and installed all the updates etc.


    1. I am very impressed with the graphics. My kid loved the video's of the people killing the monsters. He is only 4 so he thinks that is cool.

    2. for starters I joined Selbina server but the main problem is I don't speak japanes

    3. I don't even know what to do. I am not liking the movement system. too much to do with the mouse. I like the movement system that XI has compaired to this. Is there a way to change it to more like ffxi? for example. I can look left and right with my mouse moving left or right with out pushing any buttons.

    4. I don't know what else to say yet but hey it is a start.

    1. graphics are good, but game itself still needs some work ;p

    2. ok you don't speak Japanese.......but I dont see how that is a problem, plenty of english people out there.

    3. FFXI was made with a controller in mind first, then keyboard/mouse added later (explains the way it controlled) FFXIV was designed with both in mind, the game plays better with a controller (to me anyway)

    4. It will get better with 1.9 / 1.20

      Ok trying to figure this out.

      Is there a sub class like there is in FFXI where you can chose any job to lvl and use it as a sub job?

      Also what server is most of the comunity on so I can at least be on a server where people I talk to are on.

        there are no "subjobs" in FFXIV as of now there are just classes, level as many or a few as you want, and you can equip the skills/spells how ever you want, unless the ability says that it only works on a given class, there are many penalties for cross skill as well. In 1.20 they will be adding jobs to be "equipped" with the classes that will give you access to more powerful and specific skills/spells but lock out others.

        As far as community I have no clue, someone mention it, but I forgot ;p

          can some one explain the whole hour glass god thing to me? Does it give you powers kinda like Morrow wind type of thing like a birth sign?

              I am not liking the battle system at all. Why don't they just incorporate the FFXI battle system? the mechanics are so much easier. It reminds me of WOW and Rift type of battle system. I stopped playing rift because I hated the battle system. This is a big turn off to the game.

                      good forward away. I doubt that they will take a system that already works and incorporate it into a system that doesn't work. but hey give it a shot.

                        how is the battle system diffrent, after 1.8 it is pretty much like FFXI but with an added hot bar

                          every time i want to attack i have to press a stupid button on the mouse. it reminds me so much of WOW and Rift that I want to toss it out the window.

                            It seems the original FFXI style of combat is currently out of fashion with MMOs and instead pointless pressing of buttons pretending to be a complex and fast paced combat system is what the masses want.

                              what are you two talking about, you dont have to keep clicking the mouse to do anything like that, not since 1.8 update

                              other then that it is pretty much like FFXI is

                              you auto attack
                              you have your two macro bars
                              and now you have a hot bar as well
