Upcoming content that you're working on that you're most excited for players to see/play?
Yoshida: At the moment? Instanced Raids. After 1.19 comes out, I'd have to say Materia crafting and the Ifrit battle!

Any plans for Mog Houses?
Yoshida: Not sure if it will be a Mog House, but a private space and housing are in our plans for the future. We are planning to work on it along with a major revamp of the map.

Will male Miqo’te and female Roegadyn be available with the PS3 release?
Yoshida: That’s the plan!

When will more means of transportation made available?
Yoshida: We are planning to implement both airships and chocobos in patch 1.19. I believe I'll be able to provide more details in August!

You previously mentioned that you guys are working on redesigning the areas. Are you more focused on changing the geography or the design?
Yoshida: Changes will be made to both the geography and the design of the areas. Some areas will be changed rather drastically, so I'd love if you all could discuss how you think the changes will be made while you're all looking forward to it.

Currently, there are only 3 class quests per class. Are there any plans to add more?
Yoshida: There is a plan to add more but there are many other things to take care of first, so I assume it will be after the job system is implemented.

Jumping and Movement
Hi, this is Yoshida, the producer/director.
Thank you for the discussion!
I’m sorry about any confusion that was caused due to my lack of input.
Regarding implementing the ability to move freely on the same level as an Assassin's Creed title, we have no plans of actually implementing this from a game design and cost standpoint. However, it would be possible to implement movements similar to other MMOs. For example, in other games it is possible to reach high places by jumping up against the terrain...
We would like to try to implement swimming by adding underwater areas in expansion packs, although this will require adding an incredible number of swimming animations to be created. Features built around the water in EverQuest were very fresh at the time. (Although I drowned so many times… I raised my skills safely at the fountain… Before that, I died so many times by starting as Wood Elf.) I think that underwater temple raids would be fun, so I would like to implement this concept along with the ability to swim.

Chocobos and Other Pets
Hi, this is Yoshida, the producer/director.
First of all, chocobos will not be implemented through a single update only, but will be implemented through a gradual process of content iteration (excluding Chocobo rentals)
Here is a simplified plan:
1. Calling a personal chocobo
2. Riding a personal chocobo
3. Walking next to a personal chocobo
4. Raising and dressing up a personal chocobo
5. Fighting with the help of a personal chocobo
I created this plan myself, but some features are not possible to implement at this moment. It would take way too long to implement everything at once, so we plan on implementing this bit by bit, starting with numbers 1 and 2. This is the plan for patch 1.19. More details will be revealed later in an upcoming letter.
Regarding pet classes, from summoning pets to taming, we are still in the preliminary planning stages, so we don't know which direction we're going to start with yet. Either way would be fine. We still need to do all the battle-related adjustments, class balance adjustments, and implement the job system first before anything else, so we will be looking at any ideas you have for us.
If cultivation is implemented, I would like to have gardens implemented as well. It would be nice to have a garden in front of your house, so let’s test this out.

Mounted Combat
It would be very difficult to feature mounted battles on every field. Therefore, instead of creating mediocre content for every area, we would like to make these battles special. This will be far ahead in the future, but if we were to implement mounted battles, we would like to make this specialized content. This way we can focus our resources to create the most interesting and optimized content.
The road is very long, so we would greatly appreciate your patience and support. m(._.)m

Reinhart did ask some good questions on the Japanese forum (I won’t get mad that he bypassed his friends here…) so here are the official details we can offer up. Some of it has been addressed elsewhere previously, but doesn't hurt to have it one place.
Not an overabundance of details to share, but you can expect further details will be posted in the forums and topics in the near future. Hopefully you guys can hold out a bit longer!
How will your own weapons/armor turn into materia? Through using them a lot and reaching a certain point, will they turn into materia?
That’s right. Here are the steps:
1) When you have the weapon/armor equipped, you will accumulate attachment points.
2) Once you have accumulated a certain amount of attachment points, you will be given the option to turn the equipment into materia.
However, there is certain equipment that you will be unable to convert into materia.
Will materia be removable?
By speaking with an NPC, you can have materia removed from your equipment.
In this instance, you will retain your equipment, but the materia that was removed will disappear.
Can weapons that have been infused through materia craft be turned into materia again? Is this limited to one time only? Or can this be done multiple times?
You can turn equipment into materia as many times as you want.
It has been stated that "equipment with materia can be traded," but I believe that "materia can be traded by itself" has not been confirmed.
Equipment with materia attached and materia itself can be traded.
However, as usual, "Untradeable" items cannot be traded.
*Keep in mind, some terminology may not be finalized, so don’t hold me to it when the Localization guys came up with fancier terms than the above!
