    Because anyone who suggests that an archer should be able to use thier daggers in combat is WoW

      For them to have access to melee weapons and abilities with stuns/snares, yea, that's WoW. It's called a Hunter.

        Yes, because realistically, smashing things with your bare fists as an Archer is just oh so wonderful an idea.


        This is beyond bullshit. So everyone else gets auto-attack to make things simpler, but RNG & Mages get shafted. OK then. So we're right back to /ra spam, awesome SE.


        I'm done with 14 now. Fuck it. One of the few things I really liked about it was the ranged class was actually GOOD this time around. They just went and killed that completely and don't none of you even fucking try to argue otherwise because we all know how lopsided things are for RNG in XI because of how overpowered Haste is.

              At least XIV is moving more towards XI's combat system now. Before the auto-attack changes a proper brawler system (again like DCUO) would've worked 100 times better for the game.

              But anyway, if you can switch styles on the fly or don't have ranged damage/acc affected by distance then there wouldn't be any need for melee weapons as an archer except for the emergency blunt hit with the bow and abilities like that for close combat/no ammo situations.

              So, how does it work?

                      But Rangers already had access to a way of rooting an enemy in place anyway.

                      So according to Dak FFXI is WoW even though it predates WoW by several years.

                          It can be used at melee range and Rangers are still able to attack with their melee weapons. Rangers are also able to use melee weapon skills including the following:

                          Yes I played WoW, I have a Rogue and Paladin both at Lv85 so I played (though off and on) until recently. I still have no idea what the fuck your arguement is about other than "lol WoW"

                              There's really no way to make things easier for you to understand. You prefer the play styles of both the Ranger and Hunter, and want to shoehorn that into the Archer. It doesn't work like that, because the job wasn't designed like that, and the game wasn't built like that. They already have their hands full with turning a beta-quality game into a money maker, they don't need to make risky changes to the programming because kids want an easy mode. There are already games that cater to that; go play them instead.
