Maintenance 2/21/11

So, any word on why they shut down both POL/FFXI and Lodestone/FFXIV for several hours during prime time on a US holiday? I still haven't found any information on why this maintenance was 3 times longer (than how it normally is for FFXIV) and what was it all for.

For those of you not in the loop, FFXIV/Lodestone went out from 5pm PST 2/21/11 and was supposedly scheduled to come back online at 3am PST 2/22/11. That's 10 hours of maintenance.

Don't know, don't care. I just want SE to reimburse me a day of playtime and give me the xp I would've gotten in that time!

Linkshell community was down as well... more so than usual, cuz it's been down for a while now for me to log into it.

Might have been the data center move they canceled a couple of weeks ago. If FFXIV was down too then it probably was.

Considering the fact that there was no reason for it to go down in the first place (nothing posted), I find this comment a bit of unwarranted barb. At least Elywnn contributed something meaningful.

Please note that the state of SE is in disarray atm whereby the team on one game isn't even talking to the team on another game where it's important (i.e., the fact that both are sharing the same servers or data center) If it was expressed on POL but not Lodestone serves to remind us of this issue.
