Got the lvl 36 THM quests done, justice ftw. XD

Then gave the BLM mobs another try. I got pwned again but at least this time I was able to hold my ground much longer, almost killed one of the things so I shuld be able to pwn them in a few more levels. Also going to have to lvl ughCON for Stoneskin, I really need that spell.

I managed to solo the first 3 WHM quests without much of a problem at 40. It asked me to kill some scorpion in Mun Tuy Cellars and then something else... followed by a Sheep NM.

I have my INT maxed out for level 40 and MND right behind it... followed by PIE far... far behind. I need to work on that.

Here's the gear I can remember off the top of my head (relevant stats only):

Head: +3 INT
Body: +5 MaB, +5 INT
Feet: +3 INT
Hands: +5 MaB
Legs: +3 MaB, +3 INT
2 Handed Staff: +10 MaB, +3 INT

Neck: +10MaB, +15 Earth MaB
Ear: +4 Evasion
Ring: +12 INT
Ring: +10 INT
Bracelet: +7 INT, +3 MaB

I have a total of something like 350 MaB and some insane amount of INT so my nukes are hitting harder than a WHM really should. It definitely helps.

I buff with Protect, SS, the MP storing ability and my Attack stance, and wait for full MP. Once I'm back to full I throw off this pattern every time:

Stone --> No Recast Timer Ability --> Stonega --> Shroud of Saints --> Stone --> Stonega --> MP Storage Ability --> SS --> Stone --> Stonega and repeat Stone until one of us dies. It works... but I can't say it'll work for anyone who didn't crank up their MaB and INT as high as I did.

Important note: The event that's going on right now "Little Lady?" has popped up some NPCs in the main cities who sell only 2 things. One is a Firework that's just for fun and the other is a food that gives the standard +3% EXP bonus... but with an added +10 MaB effect that lasts for 30minutes. The food only costs 100gil each so I bought 4 stacks. You just can't beat free MaB in your food. I suggest everyone do the same. As far as I can tell, it's the only food that offers a bonus like that.

Okay ... you can't solo these job quests. They're supposedly 4-man party type quests. But I soloed the first one. It still wasn't easy.

there are 12 other sweets that will give you a max 10+ MAB, but i doubt any of them are only 100 gil. Crumpet is the most economical i've found, its +8% magic att pot, maxed at 17%, and the best one you can get is the crowned cake, +6% magic attack pot maxed at 34. What's the name of the food your getting? BTW, i'm getting all this info from the website you told us about.

I don't remember the name of the food to be honest, but it's good to know there's even better food out there if I'm willing to pay for it. I'll have to check those out. Also... time to start skilling cooking. Booya.

I'd f*ing ride the raptors straight out of Cape Terrigan (actually, there's tons near Camp Iron Lake with the same skin) if they added it as a mount. And Lord Onzozo for the tentacle sex.

Level 33 and unlocked Dragoon. Wheeeee. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to enjoy Dragoon until I got to 50. So happy.

Got THM to 41 yesterday (yay lightning brand) and working on ughCNJ (17) now for Stoneskin. Still 9 levels to go but at least CNJ nuking isn't so bad once you get Cleric stance, which I'd kill for on THM. <_<

Wait ... Stoneskin is not exclusive to CNJ? Oh how did I miss that ... I need to level CNJ for that. Stoneskin helps a LOT for GLA/PLD when faced with casters.

CNJ gets better once you can combo with stone > stonera; it's not quite as potent as thunder > thundera (unless the target is specifically weak to stone/earth-based element) from what I've experienced but yeah the main difference is you get your first combo as a THM in your late teens whereas you have to wait till your early 20's to get your first combo for the CONJ. Granted, my CNJ is not all that high (sitting at level 29 now) but I don't find it *too* terrible. If anything, it's far better than leveling WHM solo in XI--which might imply that WHM leveling is better here, as well...but just about every WHM I've seen on Selbina is level 50 in AF gear heh.

Oh ya, leveling CNJ is definitely far more bearable than leveling WHM.

I'm 19 CNJ but I'm only taking it to 26 for Stoneskin so I guess I wont be enjoying combos for long. <_<
