Yeah. Honestly, I don't play at all, so either way doesn't make a difference to me! I just like to pass the time at work. Lol.

Any different now? I remember way back when Ragnarok Online had end-game from the get go. Even though end-game was purely farming bosses, it was end-game. Even WoW had end-game with multiple dungeons giving out T0 gear from the start. The problem of not fully building all levels of the game is quite recent. Companies just want to get their hands on the money that they would of never gotten in the first place.

If you don't have the money to develop every stage of your MMO for release, then don't make one. Obviously, we can look at XIV, APB, Warhammer, etc. as recent examples of failures.

Level cap was 60. BRD was not considered end-game, but more of a "last dungeon you grind before you hit end-game." UBRS/LBRS, Scholo, etc. were end-game.

And they were tedious. I was the Dungeon Strategist and Raid Leader for our guild (meaning I had to research strategies, develop new ones based on our members, find potential treasure lists, work with the leader to set lot priorities, schedule this shit, etc.) Maybe...well, maybe they weren't so much tedious as MY role was tedious. :/

I'm waiting for: R24 Conj so I can finally nuke effectively. I've been dumping all my resistance points into Thunder and Ice because they're the 2 I use the most. The rest I've been spreading evenly thoughout the other elements. As it stands right now, I have 70 Thunder, 66 Ice and 40ish in every other element. It spreads my resistance evenly so I never get hurt too bad and keeps my damage up for the spells I use. That being said, I want Thunder II so I can start WHOOOOOPIN @$$.

              Re: Things I'm waiting for:

I'm waiting for the development team to take their open ended class system and use it to create new and interesting play styles. The different possibilities with the way the game is designed.. it really makes me sad. I wish I could go into SE and just take over, help them realize at least a sliver of the cool shit they could do with this game.

Mainly, I think the classes themselves are way to broad in their abilities. It makes me feel as though when taking from one mage skill pool and adding to the other, I haven't really added any variety. The two classes are so diverse in what they can do, that you might as well level only one of them. But I want to emphasize that It isn't the inability to mix classes that frustrates me, rather how the roles are more or less identical. Buff/debuff, damage, and heal. Both mages do this, and they do it about as good as one another. That's.. really boring.

My highest level on THM was 20, maybe I didn't hit the levels where things really start getting unique. But honestly, it felt as though I was getting a grasp for what the next 30 levels were like ( not to mention the lack of "new" spells). In parties, both mages needed to be healing and doing damage. Hmm.

Hopefully what SE was thinking is that these will be base-level classes, and the really specialized classes will come in later. Or *fingers crossed* they are going to patch in some funky items:

              Rapier
              requirement: Thaumaturge
              Mp+10
              Hp+10
hidden bonus: allows use of red lotus on Thaumaturge class (if learned)

I hope they add items with attributes similar to this, it would make the game very interesting.

Change the record, please I was the first person to point out that it was a new and rushed out MMO when people started hating the game purely because it's a new FF game from day one. I'm posting things I am waiting for. Not things that should be in the game right now but things that I am waiting to be put into the game.

Pay attention to the topic title and get off your fucking pedestal, it's not helping you at all.

I'm almost certain the first incarnation of BRD was a 10-man or 15-man raid. The difficulty was very high and in just short weeks (or days even) Blizzard reduced the raid requirement and turned it into a 5 man instance (but not very well thought out, as anyone can attest to) Many of the pulls there were very "raid" like where you would do well with more than one tank. Eventually, I think it was just about LK release or so (prior to that?) many of the dungeons underwent changes and BRD had changes and even reduction of the number of monsters (pats + respawns)

What If I were waiting for "things that should already be there" to be put into the game? just joking

                      devil's advocate:
I could probably sit here and list off a lot of stuff that would make a video game super awesome, but in reality I am still waiting to see if they can even get to that stage. A lot of development stops at what is expected by the genre or the community. I think WOW suffers from this, and ends up being a super cookie-cutter version of an MMO. After gaming MMOs since I was in high school ( now 23) I just expect more. Maybe I do because I think I would be able to design something fun or intuitive. Maybe I just expect people to be more creative and intelligent with their work. If FFXIV finishes fixing the mess of a game they released, they still have a ton of work to do. The games art style is beautiful, and the graphics themselves are stunning. But the game is an empty shell, and after some of the talk I read in the FF communities I am a little frightened that after they fix the basic mechanics the game will not progress.

For the most part I am optimistic, and there ARE a lot of things that I am "waiting for" that aren't basic updates and stuff that should just obviously be there(see my above post). But deep down, I really am waiting for SE to show me they care about this game. That they can care enough to be intuitive with their design, and creative!

also: the need to party! I miss leveling in groups
