    - Chocobos
    - Airships
    - Class specific gear (outside of weapons)
    - Bucaneer (there's already a guild hall in Limsa for God's sake... just give it to us already)
    - Goblins (as I have seen, they're coming soon. w00t)
    - Magically enchanted Armor (not just Hermes' Boots... I want the whole selection)
    - More dance choices
    - NMs (also coming soon. See: Lodestone)
    - Summons
    - Working Battle Regimens
    - Race specific gear (besides underwear)
    - Madragoras
    - A Mog House....
    - A formal Auction House (Not Yellow Gremlin Network)
    - Titles
    - Server changing capability
    - Pouches/backpacks (There's an equipment slot.... why nothing to put in it?)
    - GET RID OF THE LIMITATION ON ACCESSORIES... OR AT LEAST OFFER US A WAY TO EARN THE RIGHT TO WEAR MORE
    - Increased Bazaar space
    - More Macro icon choices
    - More Unique/Untradable... see: Rare/Ex gear
    - Dual Wielding
    - Better Spell/Skill animations
    - Batman stabbing a shark with a lightsaber
    - The ability to abandon a local crafting levequest when you realize that it would take you too long to walk all the way to the camp you need to go to to cash in on the reward for the levequest you finished 8 days ago but havent had the time/anima to make it all the way out there just to turn it in OMGWTFTAKINGUPSPACE.
    - Balance to Single Target/AOE Spells. Reduce the damage on AoE and Increase the Damage on Single Target PLZ. Or at least Increase the MP cost to cast an AoE. I know I'm going to get a lot of hate from this one... but lets be honest... it's balanced that way. We don't need people pulling Korakola Tunnel XP parties in this game without needing a SMN. (Think 6 Conj parties killing hordes of MOBS while they run through dungeons)
    - A Central City (Jeuno/WG)
    - Less NPC Linkpearls
    - More Spells
    - Friends on Selbina

    /endrant
I think most of that was supposed to be included at launch. But seeing as SE rushed the release, things had to get left out. I am pretty sure there would have been more classes, and races too.

      Re: Things I'm waiting for:

well big things that will help FFXIV are:

      1. much more DoW and DoM classes
      2. much more story missions and get to the deeper Garlean stuff.
      3. chocobos, airships
4.opening access to Ishgard and the other cities (Ala Mihgo might be a ruins type super dungeon, which would be interesting to visit.)
      5. more Notorious Monsters and group based content/events.
      6. Updates that increase SP, XP and rewards for parties.
      7. Updates that improve crafting success rates and easier.
      8. easy to understand tutorials accessible from menu.
      9. battlefield Raids involving Garlean invasions, and magitek armor (some missions, parties start on Magitek armors, but when Magitek armor HP drops to zero, they have 20 seconds to dismount before it blows up. They continue the fight on foot.)
      10. boat war battle events in sea and airship battle events in sky.
      11. and more stuff, mew!

              Good point..

How about including basic things that should have been at launch?

They're coming, there's no debate there, the "basics" are either implemented or going to be implemented soon enough.

What we should be worried about is how are they going to be implemented, such as how endgame will be managed, how to handle loot (lets face it, the current loot system is trust based and that aint gonna fly) and chat options (tabs feature is very incomplete) and stuff like helmets on/off switch and so on and so forth.

Now I'd be super happy if they just copy/pasted the control scheme from FFXI to XIV but I doubt they will, even though that scheme was awesome.

I don't know what the heck they're thinking, but they better shape up.

To be honest if dungeons and endgame content were added to the game I'd return to full time play in a heartbeat to get my characters to the level cap instead of just logging on on the weekends to do some leves then do something else.

I think there is a dungeon. People were fighting skellies and stuff in some indoor underground dungeon looking thing.

                      Re: Things I'm waiting for:

Yeah but there's no quests tied to it and no real incentive to go there outside of RP events unfortunately

When I say dungeons I mean stuff like instances (Nyzul Isle, Einherjar, MMM, BCNMs etc). FFXIV just seems to lack them right now and to be honest doing nothing but killing mobs to level is quite boring.

Other games have different models for levelling. WoW has a tool that lets you queue for dungeons from lv15 onwards meaning that you never have to grind from 15+. Then you have games such as Warhammer Online that literally lets you PvP from Lv1 and you never have to consider any sort of grind from 1 to 80. Many MMOs also use questing for levelling up so you aren't grinding and you are switching locations and doing different tasks that aren't "Kill X mob Y times for Z hours for Q XP/hour". There's MMOs that give you XP for every action so you are still getting XP while gathering and crafting,

Grinding is just dated really. Give me something interesting, some bit of flavour text between quests to cover up the grind. Give me alternate ways of levelling. Honestly if I just want to endlessly kill nothing but crabs to the level cap I'd just play FFXI again.

Really this is one of the problems I'm having with FFXIV. It's a modern MMO that is still using slow and archaic ways of gaining XP to hit the level cap. I'm not asking for easy XP here, I've been playing Warhammer Online since release and still don't have a character at 80. Most players are around 60-70 and can compete with 80's due to the game being balanced for party vs party not 1v1.

Grinding is boring when it's just presented as it is: grinding. I think it's easier to spot now I don't play XI or XIV obsessively but when I play XI or XIV now I just think "Sigh same thing again?" when it comes to levelling a class. There's just no variety.

                          Re: Things I'm waiting for:

Yeah, that does seem a little silly. But every MMO is like this. EVERY MMO. When I left FFXI to play EQ2 at launch, within weeks people were complaining daily on the forums that there wasn't enough endgame content for them. When I left FFXI (again) to play LOTRO at launch, people were, once again, complaining about the lack of endgame content mere weeks into launch. In the case of the latter, I hit the cap on two characters after a month of play. But I still didn't bitch about lack of endgame content (instead I was disappointed that my options were to cap out my crafting or level ANOTHER character to 50). I just quit, since the game didn't have what I wanted.

From what I've read of other MMO launches, it was the same. Ultimately, what you have to do if an MMO isn't meeting your expectations is decide whether the time and money (in FFXIV's case, only the purchase price matters at the moment) you are putting into it is worth it to you. If it isn't, quit. If it mostly is, but sort of isn't, then decide if you want to stick it out. And if it really is, well, then you aren't really unhappy so I don't even know why you're asking yourself this question.

                            Re: Things I'm waiting for:

Well if you think about it, when you get to the level cap, there isn't much else to do except endgame. And people will reach cap quickly no matter what you do to hinder them (hi2u fatigue). WoW is pretty good about this, there's PvP battlegrounds, fishing, crafting, achievement hunting, so even if you're sick of the grind or if you're sick of raiding, you can find something else to run around and do.

But if you hit the cap in an MMO and there's no endgame ... what the hell else is there to do? Level a new toon? Or in XI/XIV's case, level another job? That gets old.

I'm just saying, I can see kind of see where these people are coming from. If you're gonna level up to cap and find nothing when you get there, what's the point? Unless you like the grind from 1-whatever, you're going to feel like you wasted a whole bunch of time.

Instead of complaining about no endgame, they can level other things or take a break, that way when endgame is added, they would be ready right off the bat *shrugs* guess I have more patience.
