So I finally got an actual lance for my lancer. It's big, pointy, and makes a kching sound when I poke stuff with it. I r teh happy.
In other news, the Mithra companion I got from the level 20 quest is kind of... suggestive. I like where this is going.
Mine is a suuullluuuuuuuut.
Everything she says is about sex and whenever she brings info she insist that we hurry before her sources wake up and find her out of bed and so on, and she talks like this all the time. I imagine she sounds like a vally girl, but so far no CSs where she talks.
Its fun at first but its starting to get boring, they're trying too hard with her dialog. (Kinda funny for being a promiscuous person she wears CONJ set that doesn't show any skin, I demand the ability to dress my companion up to fit the part!)
I didn't check the video but if they're fighting high armored enemies then the physical damage goes into the gutter (but if you got magic ... waboom!~ ... so need to buddy up with conj or use skills that have magical properties on it)
Which reminds me. Is it easier acquiring gear now?
Not sure what you mean by this. You need to be more specific. Gear was never hard to get ... it's just a convoluted process in obtaining them at a "fair value". Although that's a highly subjective term. I might think a Canvas Tunic to not be worth more than 35K but someone else may find it reasonable to spend 90K on it. The lack of an auction house makes this possible.
If you really want to know the fair value of anything then you'll need to obsess yourself with the current market price for every single shard, crystal and bottom level material, the availability of appropriately ranked crafters and out of those, the number of crafters that would humor you in crafting something with your materials.
Re: FINAL FANTASY XIV Free Trial Period (EXTENDED)
No kidding, even XI needs to get more shops selling items.
Like I said like 4 years ago. Let NPC shops sell ALL NQ items (not all in the same shop obviously) and implement a dynamic pricing so it was say 10-20% higher than the current AH average price, and decrease it up to a minimum set price when the AH runs out of stock. That would prevent things like the current massive lack of lower level items and armor that Fenrir is suffering right now.
The moment someone puts an item for sale on the AH (at a lower price than the NPC), the moment the NPC shop price goes up again.
Let HQ remain player crafted only, which is where most of the profits are anyway.
It's still not complete but you do get a sense of the general direction of prices (trends, median) so you can be a more informed customer. I like to think of it as empowering although hard core players would think of it as subsidizing the inept masses.
