Ya I didn't want to click on the link because not sure if it has viruses and stuff, but if it turns out to be a safe and valuable source for FFXIV guides and information, then it could be a valuable resource for the community!

and if not, then at least this topic can inform people to avoid FFXIV chrono guide.

but what if we're wrong and it's a good source? That other site just locked the topic because advertising is not allowed. That hardly really hints at whether the link is good or not.


I know a FFXIV site like www.ffxivorigin.com is safe and a pretty good source, even though information is scarce.

Well go check it out if you are worried! I look at it like this, it would have been passed around a lot of forums by now if it was a good source and since I haven't seen people praising it, I highly doubt it is.

clickbank.net is a site for vendors to sell stuff. I highly doubt the site you're worried about is a legitimate site. A website that is a bunch of random letters and numbers hosted at clickbank...hmmm what does that sound like?? Oh ya, RMT use lots of random numbers and letters in their names!

Seriously J9, MMO's and Role playing sites are for "acting out a role" but your a fucking grown ass adult. FFxionline dosen't have a section for role players, but if It did, you'd be more than happy to hang out there. I'm not trying to turn you off, but seriously, your asking for the WRONG type of attention.

hey Im just being helpful, shepherd. Upon pondering about the chrono site, I came across FFXIVorigin. Some readers might actually discover this for the first time, can could turn out helping them in the long run.

Despite the rants about FFXIV, they are still getting new subscribers probably every day. So it helps to find informative guides.

This early into the FFXIV release, I would say that any guide to it would be less helpful than the Brady Guide was for FFXI, if that's possible.

I'm gonna be honest, when I first stated playing the game, I had not become a forum whore like I am now, and went strictly by that outdated-the-day-it-came-out guide ROFL.

I was 24, living in a tiny tiny dorm room, smoking cig's and using old water/beer/soda bottles/cans as ash tray's and overall just being way to into the addiction that was my early time spent in vana'diel

That guide was my mother fucking bible, praise be to brady.

I have been meaning to pic up a copy on e-bay or something, I'd pay a nice price for a mint condition one as I lost mine in a move but i still have the bubble map that came with it lol.

The Brady guide was great for quests, basically following that to find out where quests were and the requirements. And since that was back in the days before Windower, it was even more useful as I wouldn't have to log out to look shit up.

Its other sections were less than useful, but the quest guide was (for the most part) easy to follow and useful.

I used to use the gamefaqs guides when I first started due to how easy they were to print so I really can't say anything about the people who used the Bradygames guides .

I'm not saying the Brady guide was completely useless. But, you have to accept that after a certain point, and with a game that's updated reasonably frequently (4 updates a year is still more often than virtually every non-online game), it becomes outdated and useless very quickly.

Likewise, with FFXIV which I would still consider to be in 'late beta' stages, any guide on it would be less helpful, since more things are going to change more drastically, making any published information outdated fairly quickly.

At least a wiki could be updated fairly quickly, but there's still a good chance that you're using outdated information in that kind of environment.

Oh absolutely. I was using it back in 2004, though, so it wasn't that bad at all.
