Leve Link is when someone else in your party has the same leve to do. You will get a leve link message and both people get the benefits stated on their own leve card while other members not linking still earn some gil. So if you coordinate what leves are offered between party members before accepting them, you can max the amount of gil you make. We do it where one person takes the leves in that city and then we do them. Then someone else will go to town and grab their leves and then we'll do theirs.

That's what I thought ... I didn't think you could get the same rewards as the guy that has a different leve (but the whole party can participate in it) The difference between rewards is night and day. So, if there's 10 players and each one starts up a leve (but people avoid doing the same one) then you don't get 10 x 15,000, for example. You get something like 15,000 + (9 x 2,500) That's still not a bad deal but nowhere near what I'm reading here.

The reason you don't necessarily want to leve link is because you're using up multiple leves at once and will only boost the gil earned by the people hosting the leve.

You can push sparking down with HQ tools ... apparently. +3 might mean an additional 15 durability leeway based on quick observations and limited tests.

The latest buzz is regarding repairs. You need to be within 10 ranks of the optimal rank on an item to repair it. The closer to (or higher than) the rank you are the better your success rates. HQ items add additional rank requirements to this and breaks it down to roughly 5 for every HQ level (i.e., 5/+1, 10/+2, 15/+3)

So the number 5 is key ... or something. Anyone wanna take a stab? Last night I ran into an interesting scenario which seemed to nullify the current belief regarding the repair system. I couldn't repair an item of Rank 18 on some retainer with my craft at Rank 12 and a tool that was Optimal rank 22 (neither did the Optimal rank 7 worked) I just get an error message that said, "you are currently unable to repair this item".
