If SE had the nerve to release the game in such a state and charge people 50 bucks for beta testing it after release I think it's fair to review it as is.

Not to mention he played it for a whole month and actually spared SE from the much harsher review the game merited.

No, I'm posting what information was available on the website. I can't give you what I can't get.

As for the 10 week part, thats just the way they do it. The game has not been out 10 weeks but their system totals after 10 weeks so you are only getting a 4 week total.

Strange that they don't have data for Japan. Still, sales numbers aren't too great.

I'm starting to get very worried about the future of this game. When the JP players are overwhelmingly negative, that's a terrible sign.

I'm not worried at all.

I'm enjoying the game since I actually have things to do and have goals since the game is new, and my linkshell has around 30 active members that show no sign of boredom so I'm ok.

Its SE's fault for releasing the game in a shameful state but they KNOW what they need to add, and worst case scenario is that they'll turn it to an FFXI clone (adding NMs is the 1st step since I remember that they said they weren't going to)

The update notes gave me some hope, and the next step is PS3 release with its reviews, and since PS3s are easier to get than a high end PC, I think there's still a good chance the game will bounce back on its feet.

And speaking of scores, to think XIV would get a lower score than ST:O...

Strange that they don't have data for Japan.

Over at Amazon.co.jp, CE ranks 65th in overall software sales but the regular edition took the 5th spot. That indicates that the regular edition users outnumber the CE by anywhere from 2:1 to 5:1 (or even higher) This doesn't really mean anything since you can get software from many chain stores in Japan, especially if you live in Tokyo, but considering how popular Amazon.co.jp is becoming in Japan (outside of Tokyo) and the number of comments already made for the software, it's safe to say that it's still a significant portion of sales within Japan.
