Regarding a Synthesis Issue (Sep. 29)

As of the Sep. 29, 2010 version update, we have confirmed an issue where synthesis attempts are more likely to fail due to the basic commands not working as intended.

Investigation and recovery work is currently underway.

We ask for your patience in this matter until this issue is resolved.

Ok, so I thought it was the way it was supposed to be. I did 25 synths and THREE succeeded and this was for a level ONE item and I'm level 9 I believe. I've been pushing myself through crafting only by sheer willpower because I am NOT enjoying it with all these failed attempts. When you fail and get 5 armory points or maybe if you are lucky 25 and this is happening OVER AND OVER AND OVER with thousands to next level, it is not enjoyable...not in the f**king least. I'm not bothering to do any on my own anymore until they fix this. Maybe I'll do the leves since it doesn't cost me anything except time...but I'll only do them if I feel like self-flagellation.

Yea, I realized I was losing just as much durability, if not more, for successes, even though they were rare. Most failures were hitting my durability for around 30 points. It was ridiculous. Since I'll be out this weekend I'll probably farm up a bunch of ores and sell them until I get back.

Thanks for posting this ... I was wondering why level 1 synths yesterday was failing like mad when the previous day at a lower rank I was flying through them no problem.

Honest to pete if a team FFXIV member from SE would have knocked on my door yesterday, I would have punched him in the face and kicked him in the nuts......I was that frustrated from crafting. lol (Seriously, I would. I punched my son in the face the other day...not hard but enough to get him to stop pestering me!)

[Important Update Details]

* Updates pertaining to synthesis are as follows:
-Fixed an issue where synthesis was prone to failure due to the effects of basic synthesis actions (such as "Standard," "Rapid," and "Bold") not working correctly.
-As a result of an adjustment made to the basic synthesis actions, using "Rapid" commands will incur a higher loss of durability and using "Standard" commands will incur a lower loss of durability.

* Fixed an issue preventing players from exchanging /tells and other chat commands.

* Fixed an issue causing the "Hasty Hand" ability to succeed regardless of synthesis difficulty under certain conditions.
NOTE: This issue was addressed during the version update performed on Sep. 29, 2010 at 3:00AM (PDT). We apologize for the late announcement.

Fixed an issue causing the "Hasty Hand" ability to succeed regardless of synthesis difficulty under certain conditions.

I did 12 snyths and only failed 2. Thats a HELL OF A LOT better than my 22 out of 25 failures!
