ya its a complex subject, when they get to it, I wonder if it will be like Ballista or something less sport like?


On that note, things sound very competitive in FFXIV, people after money and better gear and stuff. But people shouldnt thnk competitively, mew. Because that would be like a stamp collector getting angry when a rival collector gets a better stamp.
It's best to enjoy what's there and eventually you'll get the better stuff too!

How is the FFXIV mob population going? Are people competiting for mob captures, well I think leves solves much of that issue now, but when playrs can do leves, they'll have to go back to traditional XP farming.

To be honest if I want PvP I'll want to log onto Warhammer Online and not log onto a game where there is no semblance of PvP balance whatsoever.

PvP games are for PvP and class balance is geared to that.
PvE games are for PvE, not PvP.

but PVE mmos are known to include something PVP. FFXI included that stuff and a part of the community like that kinda stuff.
PVP in PVE is different from open pvp servers.

SE blatantly said there will be PVP, but it will most likely be another sporting event type game, maybe even related the Colosseum or something.

As long as it's a side-game with no real bearing on the PvE stuff, it shouldn't be too bad for the game as a whole.

PvP in the game could be a nice change to the constant grind in the game, especially if they make it objective based. I would much rather have objective based rather than mindless killing of other players. And have it so that you need another person in order to win. None of the crap they have in WoW where if you are a twink, you can just destoy anyone.

I'd hate PvP in FF games. Ballista was fail. Anyone with a Kraken could just become a 1-man wreaking crew. I'm sorry, but SE doesn't have a clue when it comes to class and gear balance as evidenced by their inability to solve the issues with ninjas, rangers and other classes in FFXI.

They should focus all of their resources in getting PvE right so we don't have to inject ourselves with crappy dosages of PvP in order to self-medicate ourselves into believing we should continue to subscribe.

True PvP is about your ability as a player and not about your f**king equips. I think all PvPers should be in a specific area and when you enter you are given equal quality weapons/armor so that your ability as a player shines through. Then we'll see a lot of big headed people put in their place.

There was a pretty infamous RDM on our server about 5 years ago. Just 1 manned the other side as a RDM/NIN with Kraken + Joyuese I believe.

I would absolutely love it if SE made PvP in this game a full fledged organized sporting event, complete with unique "tools" and team uniforms. Like, I'm talking all the way, almost blitzball-esque type PvP sport stuff. Maybe a mix of Ballista and Blitzball or something, I dunno, but like an entirely different sport game within the game world kinda stuff.

It'll never actually happen, and it will never have any real depth to it, but if they were to add PVP, that's the kind I'd wanna see.
