I was just wondering if there are any region differences with packaging, contents etc with regard to teh different regions game packages.

Th UK / Europe edition comes with the flask, security key, notebook with artwork, fabric map and a UK classification rating of 12+. (click below thumbnail for fullsize piccie)

NA Version comes with "Right of Passage" redemption voucher (lame), security token (I already had one for FFXI), travel journal (feel ripped off because the EU version has more colour photos and the book looks smaller than the EU one) and Onion Helm in-game item (haven't needed to use it yet, but it looks horrible designwise)

I would definately have preferred the tumbler mug that those in the EU received.

I got the onion helm voucher to in the instruction book as well as a second disk which has a making of documentary on it (not watched that yet) and a guest pass

The Onion Helm has more stats on it than just that added effect.

Yeah, I didn't mention the other items such as the DVD as I was pretty sure all CE versions came with it.

Something I like better than yours is that our comes in a study box that opens like a book. Looks to be smaller than your box also which is nice because my display shelves are at max. lol

But you got my tumbler.......I'm still waiting for my JP version but I'm worried. I put the order in late and, if its like the UK site I tried to get my UK version from, its first come first served. I got an email from the UK site telling me that they sold out before getting to my order so no UK version for me. And I'm waiting for a confirmation email telling me my JP ed. was sent but haven't received it yet.....this does not bode well for me.....

I love the tumbler and the map. The fabric on the map is the same you get when you buy new glasses and they offer you the little cloth to clean them, so its good material, and i can clean my glasses with a pimp-ass cloth anywhere I go.

I just keep all the trinkets inside the tumbler :3 that way ill never lose the security token. Its pretty cools.

The DVD is incredibly cheap... the vids on the DVD are all on the FFXIV youtube channel. You still get some interviews on the DVD but im sure you can find the vids on youtube also.

There is a serial number on the back of the token. You link that serial number to your Square Enix account. Then when you log into the game you push the red button and enter the number in the box for one-time password.

Yea, but this thing isn't connected to anything by anything, so how does it produce a code that the login server will accept?

I'm guessing it's some kind of mathmatical algorythm based on the serial number. The token produces a number based on the algorythm, and then the login server breaks it back down. There's probably a list of numbers it can match to throw off anybody trying to crack it. If it matches a number on the list, it lets you in.

Every token has it's own algorithm and the serial number on the back matches up your token and it's security code with your account.
