Horrible LAG on CE release! What will happen on SE?

Seriously, this deserve attention.

Anyone lagging like crazy ?

My connection isn't bad at all, i did all the speedtest ping test...but i can't even play @ night time, the morning was laggy but the night time i can't even get on and interact with NPC without lag out.

FFXI with 3500 people, there is absolute no lag... i assume seblina doesn't have more then 4000...horrible lag for CE release!

What is that about? i am complainning about the lag on FFXIV not FFXI Just saying FFXI have the same amount of players and 0 zero lag... I assume they limit server log on.

I could log in fine, in the afternoon was ok, spells doesn't cast after like 20-30 sec apart. Now i just can't even log on.

Open beta should have more players then CE release why is the servers lagging so much? i hardly even feel lags in OB

not lagging here, what settings did you set for your graphics -.- (well there is alittle lag here and there but thats normal)

I"m actually quite surprised as I'm running the game on higher settings than I did with P3 or OB, and it's running beautifully. Full-time green, no yellow or red. In beta I had constant yellow signal and sometimes red.


What I'm not happy about is SE reduced the starting gil again and raised NPC prices, again. Ugh, currently f'ing broke from multi-classing (also the client still periodically crashes. What the crap SE?) Otherwise it's been a smooth launch.

Honestly, I'm pretty impressed with how well the game is running. This may be the smoothest MMO launch I've ever experienced.

I've had some problems with serious lag in the party interface when partying up for a Behest, but when everyone and their dog is packed around the Aethyrite, you sort of expect that.

Other than that, and a couple of incidents of "The target is already engaged", it's been good.

I've had many dire fights because of this issue. Frankly, it made me log off after a while. Me and my partner would engage a mob. He was Gladiator and I was a Conjurer. After one hit either he or I or both would not be able to hit it again. It never lost interest in us though and pounded the piss out of us.

I also had my game crash to desktop a couple times with an error telling me that there was no DirectX. /sigh Of course, I was doing guildleves at the time so now I have to wait until they are active again to finish them.

The only really screwed up lag is with party invites and such.

I mean, the game runs pretty much lag free for me except for earlier when I tried to make a party for some leves... It seemed like it was all on SE's side too, as I had a green connection the whole time I played. The system takes forever to process party invites and the like though.

The first time it happened, I just went into passive mode and ran away and it didn't follow me very far. After about 30 seconds I came back and was able to attack it.

The times after that, I just went into passive mode, stood there a few seconds, then went back into active mode and was able to attack it.

It seems to be lag related, but possibly more overtaxed-server rather than network latency.

On the bright side, I haven't seen any of the disappearing/teleporting mobs or rubberbanding that I usually see in most new MMO releases (or even expansion releases) that make them nearly unplayable. The most recent example being the first couple of weeks of City of Heroes: Going Rogue, which was... an adventure to try to play when the servers were packed full.

Ya, I would go into passive run off and then re-engage when the name changed color but then I'd hit it once and the same shit again. A couple mobs I had to engage, hit, go passive, run, come back, engage, hit, go passive, run, engage, hit, and so on until it finally friggin died. Mobs are scarce so I wasn't letting them go. lol The thing is I had this same issue in beta but not as bad.

As for lag, remember people this is just the early adopters crowd. The regular version crowd is coming soon and then you'll see the trickle effect of people waiting to see what others are saying and decide to try it. The next few weeks will really try your patience if you are already experiencing lag issues in crowded places.

well currently downloading the updates which i guess will take 4 hours at this rate. so erm which server should I join?
