Ok, sent the video and asked him today if it helped. Well holy crapper wrappers you would have thought that I asked him the stupidest question on the planet! He yelled at me "thats the way we were doing it!" and I had to listen to a tirade for 5 more minutes.

Well all I know is that it is overly complicated or fucked up.....and I'm sick of trying/hearing about it. Honestly, patch the game and go back to skillchains. I take it that they did this because some people couldn't figure out the timing of skillchains or remembering what went with what was too much of a hassle....this system either needs to be tweaked or redone because its worse.

What? Skillchains were retardedly easy. SE is too stupid to realize that the reason people don't do them is that it became much more efficient to spam your TP as soon as it was ready than to wait on your other party members. And they were too stupid to realize that showing other party members how much TP you had might have been a good thing if they truly wanted us to do them. As it was, leveling my WAR, I did the "accidental" skillchain a lot, but mostly because if I spammed my WS, I'd get hate off the tank, and I didn't wanna die. So I'd sit on my TP and wait for another party member to use theirs so I could do the skillchain, which sometimes pulled hate, but usually just killed the mob. Winnar.

SE is so dumb. Maybe they need to like play their own games.

I was reading a blog entry somewhere from some dude who has played the game extensively going back to Alpha and said that there's something weird with the regimen in that it only works 2/3 the time for him and his groups. These guys play together everything and have been documenting this. There's something that's making it fail or not work and no one knows what it is. Is it a bug? Is timing the issue and server lag can kill it? No one knows at this point.

At least I can see they're XIV related and ignore them, many other boards don't easily distinguish between the two.

It's just annoying going to a site domain of ffxionline and getting swamped with ffxiv things, or going to a ffxi linkshell forum and seeing ffxiv discussions.

Every Final Fantasy 11 site I've visited (that has forums) has seemed to turn into a Final Fantasy 14 site. This board is no exception. On a new posts search here, about half are on the FFXIV boards. At least I can see they're XIV related and ignore them, many other boards don't easily distinguish between the two.

There's two separate forums for XI and XIV. No one is forcing you to click on the XIV section instead of XI.

And at first, the FFXIV topics were at the top of the main forums list until I pointed out how silly that looked.

Not to mention without the XIV discussion threads there would be virtually no new Final Fantasy related topics to discuss.

In this specific case, it's because so many of the regulars were FFXI old-timers who had gotten tired of FFXI and left it for various reasons, including bullshit banninations because SE's billing policy sucks. Some were eager to believe that somehow a new SE-run MMO would be managed any better than the curent SE-run MMO.

Unless you folks would like to pony up the money to whoever is maintaining and funding the site, then there's really not much to complain about. FFXIV was suppose to be the evolution of FFXI and eventually the FFXI servers will be shuttered (or barely hobbling along with a few thousands of devoted or otherwise addicted fiends chained to that game)

Anyway, I think of it as the FFXI in the name which implies where the community has come from and wouldn't change it. Sure, it may not be as fancy as another website in terms of content or with a catchy URL address, but just be glad you're not forced to create a new profile every 3 months because they keep switching BB software or content provider or being merged into a bigger community.

We discussed an additional domain name with an admin. Some of us believe that its just not necessary. FFXIV has grown out of FFXI's popularity and its normal for our website to also expand to include it. Our community is small but we share what we know and, for the most part, we don't have to wade through tons of troll posts to see what we came to see.

The FFXI component of this website was extremely slow before the influx of the FFXIV content. Many of us don't play anymore but we still come here to share other interests from politics to video games and that is what the majority of content has been about. FFXI discussions are still just as important as the FFXIV but some of us are not playing anymore so can't answer questions about the more current content or how the environment is in the game currently.
