Thanks for the offer. Think I will stay out of beta, though. I just don't want to get burned out for retail (already know the basics from closed.) If you're willing, a friend and I would like to join the LS for launch. :] If it matters, we both speaky the 日本語. But he's more ペラペラ than I am -- much more. haha

Maybe they ninja patched aggro then. I was able to go all the way to the teleport up there. One thing I noticed is that they were staring the shit outta me and following me, but didn't attack.

OH I SEE. SO THAT"S HOW IT IS? IT'S MY SKIN TONE ISN'T IT? JUST SAY IT OUT LOUD ALREADY ... BLUEGGA ---- @#*&$(#@&$ YOU!!!!

(It's a slight greyish/bluish skin tone - at least on my screen - and it's because of some lame RP that played in my head when I created her ... and yes, the lighting is very bad in the game and I hope they fix it or it's just my gamma settings are very bad)

None of my JP friends from FFXI is going to be on FFXIV or at least not until PS3 is released seeing that they don't own a decent rig to run it (and good PCs are pricey in Japan for some reason) I plan on purposely being obtuse around JP players and tease them a little. Not enough to get kicked out of parties but enough to make them squirm in their underpants. (I once pretended to be an 11 year old girl in FFXI in a group and talked filthy and nasty around them ...)

For sure your friend can join in as well. The more the merrier ... I wanted to keep it light and fun this time around since I'm obviously burned out running cutting-edge end-game groups at 3 hours a week only. Yes, it was only 3 hours a week of raiding as a group, but you can't begin to understand just how much preparation that entailed offline. Not about to spend that kind of time and treasure this time around Although I did have fun taking obviously under geared and under motivated players and taking down things that overgeared, overmotivated (and often oversexed) players in other guilds couldn't do. So satisfying

Walked by a PC store that advertises their FFXIV model at around $1500, $1600. That doesn't help things.

Don't think we'll see many Japanese players on Lindblum. Many of them decided to stick to three servers and declared them the "Japanese" servers. Log into them now in open beta and you'll definitely see mostly Japanese... Can't remember off hand what they are, though.

Does your LS/guild have some sort of website or registration thing we need to do? Most of 'em nowadays require that for guild discussion / announcements.

You're better off piecing your own PC together. Don't use the two main electronic stores in Shibuya (the ones near the Starbucks at the intersection) to buy the parts. Stupid expensive. Try the back alleys of Akihabara (not the big annoying shop right when you get off the station), for those of you near Tokyo and have no idea what to do.

My XI model cost me about $2k, though. Prices have come down. xP

Was just saying for those in the Tokyo area. xP Knew some Japanese natives who had no idea where to go for these things -- but I guess that's normal for any area of the world.
