We would like to thank everyone who has participated in the FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test.

The open beta test currently being conducted is scheduled to end at 5:00 p.m. on September 19, 2010 (PDT). Following the end of the open beta test, the beta test site will close at 12:00 a.m. on September 20, 2010 (PDT).
Client downloads will cease simultaneously with the end of the open beta test.
The bug report form will be closed simultaneously with the beta test site.

EU:

FINAL FANTASY XIV is currently going through its final adjustments in the Beta Test before being officially released and we are still continuing to receive applications for the Beta Test. For those who have yet to participate, feel free to apply.

The FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test is scheduled to end on Sep. 20, 2010 at 00:00 (GMT).

I've decided to wait for the PS3 version of this game after playing the beta... my pc doesn't handle it as well as I like and I'm not buying a new one just for it. Besides, hopefully most of the bugs will be gone by then.

This is the best way especially if you already own a PS3 anyway. No use throwing bad money after good if the only thing you are going to do with a new PC is play FFXIV.

I think I will do the same thing. I will stay with ffxi for now and probably stick it out until the level cap is raised to 99. With the quality of the recently released gear I wonder what they will give us in the 90s.

The game is already manufactured long ago, they will just patch it as it comes.

Anyway how, for the ps3 user, i will say this.

Considering how the fatigue system works if you are hardcore player, i am sure you will miss any "early advantage"

and all of us FFXIer know whatever release first = good advantage in "gil" Over sell that piece of junk for 10 mill and it will come down to 100k or even 10k.

Not only that, you leveling going to rely heavy on guildleve i suppose which reset every 48 hours. Being able to play 6 month earlier will give every player from pc version to exploit the early bugs and early leveling. That is the price you pay, of course i am a casual player so i don't really care either way.

SE said that we can use the saved templates for our characters in retail to quickly make our characters, so I honestly would guess yes.

I would say no because they would loose money out of people buying the actual game when it comes out.

That's what I thought at first, but the game is supposed to take 15 gigs of space... Mine only takes 8gigs? :s

I would say no because they would loose money out of people buying the actual game when it comes out.

I'm still not understanding. How would me using the open beta client for retail make them lose money?
