ffxiv leveling questions.

    ffxiv leveling questions.

    Since there is still limited information regarding the game available.

    I would like to ask few questions. Maybe we can compile something by putting our brains together.

    1. is it possible to reach other city yet by walking (who remember the run from windurst to sandorian then to bastok (without taking the ship...) ? (looking at the top view maps i still can't tell.

    2. assuming you can teleport to other city @ will (losing anima) are you capable accept multi-city guildleves ?

    3. are taking guild leves only limit to the city? I am not level 10 yet, i don't see any option to get it from some sub-town if there is any.

    I was in closed beta phase 2, only played for 30 min... (since my pc couldn't take it then have to play by my friend's house). I want to ensure i get a smooth leveling transition on 22th!

      I know i miss it too but i am more looking forward to ffxiv! I want to level max in 3 day!

        Just tried to run from Gridania to Ul'Dah... I was doing pretty good until I ran into some mob that oneshotted me from behind for about 1400HP with a long range shot ;_;... I thought I had gotten away and then I see my guy get hit and go down.

          From Limsa to Uldah, yes. Take the ferry from Limsa to a port just west of Uldah. The run is short, maybe about 10 min tops. Get the crystal halfway for a port. One important thing to note. The further you are away from the place you want to teleport to, the more anima you need. Whereas it only cost me 4 to get to Limsa from one of the outpost just outside, it costs 6 from Uldah to Limsa.

          You can accept guildleves from another city ... but I encountered a couple of bugs where the options are [en]. I'm guessing placeholder for now but I do hope it gets fixed before beta ends. You cannot obtain the starting quest series (makes sense, otherwise it'll be too easy to get 60,000 gels w/o trying)

            I am currently @ the ferry dock on thalan (u'lah) side but i can't seem to dock the ferry to limisa. I am stuck outside.

            I also saw a "bazaar"...that place is complete useless with a "cave path that exist like 60 times + in that same area...same structure...do dev lost their ideas of making caves?

            Update: I am forever ever ever ...stuck on the damn boat from thalan to lomisa from now on.... woot. After 5th try of logging in ...i am still on the damn boat and disconnect whenever i see lomisa's shadow on the boat and restart the whole boat trip!

            See you in retail..i am not taking the damn boat..let me walk please.

              15-20 min long boat ride, you're not stuck. It's a long boat ride. But it's about the same length as from Selbina to Mhaura. It's for people who want to fish (otherwise it's useless to try fish if boat ride is too short) I was half expecting a Kraken on board and would make it 2/2 (Kraken visited me first time I boarded ferry in FFXI beta and one shot me and everyone else)

                To go to Gridania, you head east from Uldah and walk a bit along the road, it will turn northeast and keep following into the next zone (the terrain will change) from there, it's a bit of a jaunt northwards, but you'll be able to see Gridania on your map. Just follow the road. Ugh ... head hurts, I can't believe I made the trek myself. Got to almost level 10 though and did some crafting.

                    It does feel a bit like iRO right now though with how slow class rank is to rise, at least for melee jobs. Harvesting jobs level pretty damn fast especially miner, but it's such a bitch getting up combat skills even with your guardian aspect.

                      No i am stuck.

                      What i mean is i am really stuck because i "disconnect" from the game whenever i am close by limoinsa (i can log in another chr in lominisa). After i disconnect, and reconnect, i will re-start on the boat and depend completely what the boat is at. The boat in tha gem is 1 way trip PER boat. So i don't go back to thalan...

                      i will be on the boat from thalan to lominsa for infinity and forever, as i keep disconnect @ the end of the ride and redo the same ride over and over and over again without the ability to jump off the ship.

                      wish i can swim back.

                        Can you call a GM? Maybe someone can help you by moving your character to a city or something. The other option is to teleport before you disconnect.

                          This is still open beta, i doubt the GM will hear me, anyway i am not going to brother, since they going to wipe the characters anyway.

                            Its a glitch they need to fix before release. Notify them so they can fix it for everyone.
