  • Official Unofficial Bugs, Thoughts, and Suggestions

    A lot of us have participated in the open beta, but, since they've barred us access to their forums, we've no place to offer our feedback or bug reports. I though that we could do that here and it would, at some point, most likely be seen by a developer roving our forums.
    • It's been observed that the player will be unable to attack certain enemies, even if those enemies can link and become aggressive if the player engages a similar enemy available for attack. This leaves the player unable to defend themselves, and eventually leads to their death.
    • When the player dies of poison after defeating the monster that poisoned them, the message in the chat log reads You have been defeated by You, or something similar. (I saw this one coming)
    • The "Armory" system doesn't feel like much of a system at all. It's a huge hassle to have to change both main and off-hand weapons every time I want to change roles. It would be nice if a GUI similar to the equipment screen were implemented where the player could create different presets for their jobs. A drop down or tabs would contain the different presets they've created, and the player could then equip that preset with what is currently in their inventory. A single click of a button at the bottom would allow them to quickly switch to that job with the preset equipment.
    • The player needs to have access to the entire map for whatever region they're in. It doesn't make any sense to show them a location on a map that they must travel to without showing them where, in relation to their current position, that location is.
    • The client shouldn't crash when the player alt-tabs from a maximized window. It should also not crash when the player alt-tabes from a windowed client for an extended period of time.

    Well they did that because feedback to change the game is pretty much not needed anymore

    thats what macros are for

    ok I agree here, something that still is stupid, since you really cant use the "its a PS2 port" excuse this time around. ;p

      This issue has been reported by more people in the feedback forums than I can count, sadly SE has only told us to use macro's to manage this poor implementation of a good idea. We can but hope they fix it in the future, it could be so much better than it is now.

            ...oh wait, no I'm not. Same shit, different game.

            There are people with lists of "issues" with this game and posting on the official forums didn't do shit so you really aren't losing out by not being able to go there. All I can suggest is to bare with it and in 3-5 years they'll do something about it.

                Mass Effect has full maps of the regions you are visiting. And I still enjoyed exploring each and every one completely.

                Not having the map at first makes sense for certain regions (like unknown dungeons), but in most cases there's no real benefit in negating players access to it unless there's some pretty crappy level design devs would like to hide behind the fog.

                  Don't be ridiculous. Having full zone maps in FFXI never stopped anyone from exploring. No in-game map is going to tell me "The view at this beach in Buburimu is gorgeous at night" or "You should really check out this part of Lufaise." FFXI's maps left out a lot of hidden tunnels or areas as well.

                    Server load test under conditions where the end user should not expect it to run perfectly. Its easy for them t find client side bugs; real server load is much harder to simulate.

                      Yea, in Gridania's opening missions one of the NPCs opens a random map and says "Go here", and then puts a marker there. The player has no idea what map that is, how to get there, or even what direction it's in. After a little prodding, the NPC linkpearl tells you to go South, but that's about it.

                        Anyway, I think this game need more monsters. There is too little around. Also where the heck is the conjurer guild? I can't find it in all 3 city.

                          You can't "explore" if you already know where's what.

                            So those maps show everything there is to know about the region and not just the general terrain layout information? That sounds very convenient.

                            For a second there I thought it was just another XI map with missleading info about the area you where in, and nothing more.

                              I don't read that language SE... Apparently it had something to do with my armor needing repaired, but after I got it repaired by the NPC it didn't go away. So I am wondering if that has something to do with the fatigue system. Before I logged off, it turned into a red color and said "Heavy Damage".
