I dunno if they are o not but I have seen distinctively the Japanese Flag, The Union Jack, and the EU circle of Stars beside peoples names. so either people have similar ideas as to what their LS should look like or SE's regional registration is being represented in game by a regional flag.

Really, though... the overall game looks amazing, beta will be beta, errors will be found, no reason to try to turn the entire forum off to the game because of a few bugs you encountered during free play.

Suuuuure, did you ever play EQ?.

Yeah, played it from release in 1999 through to around April 2004.

There was no exp debt in Everquest, you lost exp when you delevelled just like FFXI with the additional problem of appearing naked at your bind point and having to make your way back to your corpse in order to loot it before it vanished and took all your gear with it, something they relaxed in later years. And while exploration was there initially, as with FFXI, once people had established the optimal areas to exp in it was very rare you found people venturing off the beaten track. The two games were very similar in so far as they had a brutal death penalty and limited transport options. There were no mounts in EQ till the Luclin expansion or access to the Nexus stones. Prior to that the only forms of transportation were druid and wizard portals, boats, and your own feet. Depending on your playtime it could take days early on to venture between alternative exp camps if you didn't know a high level druid or wizard.

See, thats your opinion and you are welcome to it. There are others, me included, that feel this game needs more time in development and not to be released on the 22nd. There is more to a game besides looking amazing. There are TOO MANY issues this close to release and during an open beta. I've been testing games for many years and I have to say this open beta ranks up there in the 5 worst that I've experienced. I love SE and I'm a FF fangirl, so I want nothing more than to have this game succeed. In fact, in a little corner of my fangirl mind, I want it to be bigger than WoW. lol But with the path they are taking, they are hurting their success, especially if they decide to release at the end of the month.

In fact, in a little corner of my fangirl mind, I want it to be bigger than WoW. lol But with the path they are taking, they are hurting their success, especially if they decide to release at the end of the month.

My thoughts exactly, I say scrap the 22nd release date give it another few months, do another open beta in January and have a worldwide multiplatform release. At the present time there is no force in the universe that will have me buying this game, let alone paying a monthly fee for it as well.

as for knowing nothing about MMO's my experience in FFXI, WoW, EVE, Aion, SWG beg to differ, and I know one thing about MMO's, if the gameplay is clunky, than it won't last long (Warhammer,LoTR suffered from clunky gameplay). It can look as awesome as possible, but if you can't get around (movement) or issue commands (in battle) without good response times, than it is going to fail.

It has potential to be a great game but ATM it is aweful, and if SE rushes it out the door, they are going to be shooting themselves in the foot. Especially with the well established WoW releasing yet another expansion this winter.

Reading this sentence actually reminded me of something: EQ players just recently got player housing with their latest expansion.

I don't read that language SE... Apparently it had something to do with my armor needing repaired, but after I got it repaired by the NPC it didn't go away. So I am wondering if that has something to do with the fatigue system. Before I logged off, it turned into a red color and said "Heavy Damage".

Off topic, but was this image really that big? I mean, if you're looking at 800x600 resolution maybe, but who the hell uses that resolution anymore? It isn't even big enough to break the tables of the forum on my screen. Not really trying to start anything, but TGM seems to be the only person who cares about large images. XD

On topic, I'm not gaining any faith in this game being any good. I have been kind of looking forward to it as something I will eventually play ... that said, I'm not sure the expense (new computer, game itself, monthly fee) is going to be worth it after a lot of the things I've read here.

Also, I have to laugh at someone coming into a thread meant for complaining about bugs and whatnot and telling us, "NO GUYZ IT'S OK SE WILL FIX IT U DUNNO WUT UR TALKING ABOUT." Sorry, don't buy that, either. Like TGM said, SE has a history of doing things their own way and telling us to shut up and like it anyway. And unfortunately, the only way SE is going to learn to listen to their playerbase is if people QUIT. In droves. None of this FFXI crap, "Well, it's not perfect, but it's a Final Fantasy game and I like it anyway." None of this, "But I've put so much work in already, maybemaybemaybe they'll fix it!" Players need to speak up the only way SE understands - quit the game and cancel their fees. But as long as people continue to pay, SE can continue to abuse their customers because, in their eyes, "They're paying for it, so they must like it." Bullshit. FFXI players are like abused wives.

Maybe it will change, I don't know. I doubt it. But if SE doesn't listen to their playerbase when it comes to fixing major issues, I won't even bother with this game.

A prime example of SE's love for being retarded, is this weeks FFXI version update that is just now addressing issues we brought to their attention years ago. (Hi2u blue spell memory.)

Yeah, I don't think I will be playing come the 22nd. It's more of a combination of events going on in my life (including, among others, college starting, meaning I don't have as much free time as I used to) than just problems with the game, but apart from the nice graphics and the guildleaves(which are probably my favorite thing ever) this just seems like another version of FFXI with clunkier controls. It sucks, because you know, I want SE to succeed. I even have a couple thousand dollars of stock invested with them. The problem is, this game really needs more development.

I think they should push the release back a couple months, or even back to the PS3 release. It might be quite a bit too late for that, with the Open Beta and all.
