It wasn't a matter of getting the files... it was the naming of the files (when you download it, it doesn't really distinguish them even though on the download page they were clearly marked) and so I had a bit of a kerfuffle getting them into the proper folders....


Anyway I got the hang of it now, but my point stands - SE has to fix this crap.

So, I think I'll elaborate on what I saw when I imagined the armory system.

Basically, take the stat and equipment system, action and skill configuration aystem, and the stat allotment system and combine them into one GUI.

At the top will be the drop-down box from the action and skill configuration screen where the player can change between what jobs they've unlocked. Beside that will be a Set button, which will change to the selected job when pressed. Simply changing the job displayed in the box will change job sets, so the player can alter or customize them without changing their job.

In one section, that doesn't change, the player's stats and elemental affinities will be displayed. Anything else that doesn't change between jobs, except by equipment, should be displayed here. Stats on equipment will visually alter these stats.

In another section will be equipment. The player can set equipment that will be swapped to when the player changes to the job. Everything the player is able to equip into these slots will be separated into its own tab in the inventory section. This will allow better organization and cut down on clutter. A "sort by" option may also be useful, here, where the player can sort by equipped, job equipped to, etc. All equipment used in a job set should be considered equipped.

Beneath the equipment will be the section to assign actions, skills, etc. When the player swaps job sets the action bar will automatically be updated with these actions and skills. Each tab should keep track of which abilities are in which slots, and the number of action points available for that job.

A command should be available that allows players to swap job sets from within macros.

Yeah I know. Ugh, now it freaking crashed on me right as I was about to finish a leve.... which fucking cancelled the leve! THAT'S NOT FAIR WTF!?

And now it keeps crashing every 10~15 seconds.... seriously not inspiring confidence here SE. I didn't have this kind of trouble in Phase 3, so wtf?

Ya the leve issue being cancelled and not available till the waiting time is over again is absolute bs. It happened to me so often when I was testing that I got turned off to the leves. I'd only do them when the load seemed to be low on the server so I didn't have the "you can't perform" issue which would lead to me dying...which also cancels the leve.

I think there are some UI issues that could be improved but for the most part it isn't anything that I haven't seen in another game. However the UI is very, very slow. Not sure if it's because it's constantly loading information from the server (and nothing is saved client side) or my CPU is being taxed like a bitch, but it's something that needs to be addressed at retail.

The server is being fickle (Lindblum) with occasional crashing. I think it's because I sometimes (I'm exploring atm) run with my point allocation menu open and well ... that combination is dangerous. Server hates me and drops me like a ton of turd. I have to wait about 5 minutes before server decides to be nice and let me in again. I think the whole "let's save everything to the server" is a bit of an issue ... it needs to save the UI on the client but the information on the server. I think it is currently saving EVERYTHING to the server.

(I think it's ridiculous that SE is concerned more about players "modding" their UIs than it is for connection and server stability ... if they allowed some form of modding as they do in WoW things will be streamlined and be more responsive)

I think this game is pretty poor. Don't get me wrong I think it looks very nice. But graphics aren't everything in an MMO.

Control
Feels clunky, even with using a ps3 controller. The Camera Pan is terrible, and the running of the charecter feels more like driving a bus than moving an agile adventurer.

Combat
Is retarded, I am cool with the stamina bar and all that crap, but seriously the wow clone shit is terrible, asking me to confirm every attack or ability I do is also irritating. If I want to cast fire I want to cast it then not confirm I want to cast it. Do I want to make it AoE, I dunno why don't you just give me a spell that is an AoE spell instead of asking for my choice each time.

Instances.
So this totally pissed me off. For the first 20 minutes of the game I couldn't explore, I was stuck in a 8x8 bubble and unable to go anywhere. Luckily I manged to talk to the right person and get out of it. Only to be sent to another instance. Honestly I should have the choice of joining these shitty Guild things or not, not have the first half hour of game play dictated in a boring linear fashion.

Mobs
Where are they, I understand that there is 100 people killing the same things I am, but still where are all the mobs, I ran from one end of a forest to another and saw maybe 30 mobs. Add more so people can kill things, not everyone is bored enough to level one of the 12 Crafting classes.

Frankly I am glad I decided to try the beta it save m 60 dollars and standing in line with greasy teenagers, who made the once a decade trip from moms basement, at the local game store. I for one will not be playing in Eroza because it is boring as hell and feels like a crappy WoW knockoff with prettier races from FFXI and some nice graphics.

If I had four hands Id give this game 4 thumbs down.

If it's any help, Mageo, I ventured to that fourth city (forget the name -- not one of the starters) and even farther. There's mobs everywhere compared to the starter areas (and cluster-fucked together, too.) Really wish the starter zones were the same.

If it's the one I went to, you can't get there. Guards won't let you pass.

Im done with it, to clunky, to WoW like, and it makes my computer sound like shit and run very hot. Unless they tackle this stuff I personally won't be playing. If I wanted to play WoW and just quest the whole damn time, Id go revive Furrymonkey and play WoW. The game looks good, but the game itself is trashy.

Not to mention wtf is up with displaying my country flag on my name, I assume it does since ive seen little JP flags, and little UK and EU flags. If I wan't people to know where I am from Ill tell them myself I don't need people knowing Im from Canada, just by seeing me playing a video game.

Im disapointed in the game, although it seems to be par for the course, pretty well everything Square and Enix have done together of late has been a snooze fest, im talking about FFX-2,FFXII,FFXIII, and FFXIV seems to be right up that same linear as hell, mind numbingly boring ass game.

And about the checking mobs deal, if it has a red helmet by its name, and it looks like it could rape you, it probably will.

A target's relative difficulty can be discerned from the color of its aura (displayed next to its name). The color will change depending on whether you are fighting alone or as a member of a large party.

Blue: Easy Prey
Green: Decent Challenge
Yellow: Even Match
Orange: Tough
Red: Very Tough
