Here's what I'm seeing when I use the FFXIV installer thing:




The download from entry.ffxiv.com was very fast, the P2P not so much. Anyway, I got an error message that the client update failed, but then when I ran the program again, it asked for permission to make changes to my computer (I let it), and now I'm on the screen above. The background color has gone from a weird pink color to that nice blue. I think the boot version may have changed. I forget what the original was, but the current boot version is now 2010.08.27.2001. Anyway, I'll let it keep plugging along while I'm at work today.

Just make sure your PC isn't scheduled for any updates.

I was at work this morning thinking I was making nice progress on my download, and came home to find my PC restarted just after I left for work.

I got up to 400kbps on uTorrent. Not the best speeds, but better than the 50-100 I was getting.

Would it be cool to PM me the link to the torrent file?

I'm getting a steady 6kb/s - 30 kb/s with the client download.

Anyone have an alternate download link for the beta? Either the one from the entry.ffxiv.com is corrupted, as mine keeps closing as soon as I open it, or it just doesn't like my PC...

Edit: The file size of the FFXIVsetup.exe is 118MB correct?

Yep, that sounds about right. It's just a torrent program that pulls the game down from like any other torrent.

The direct download installs a program that runs as a torrent to download the full game.

I just started the dl on the ff downloader to get the torrent files then downloaded with utorrent. Put said downloaded files into proper folder and ran the beta app again. It checked the files, installed, and all done.

Oh WTF My upload speed was sitting at 819 kb/s for a good while with my download at 25~54.... WTF?!

PM me your email and I will send you the torrent files if you want to dl in utorrent instead. At least utorrent will allow you to control up speeds so they dont take from down speeds.
