Would it have killed them to have just sent out new codes to closed testers? Pisses me off that I finally got in to phase 3, updated my client for OB only to get locked out by 24/7 high traffic...

Wish, I got that all night, but I still got the application form eventually. What you need to do is just spam every hour (A minute after :00 o'clock) I believe they release the keys every hour but don't quote me on that. Anyway, good luck to you all and just keep trying if you can, but don't slave over it. Eventually you'll get your keys. Best times are like TGM said: late at night. Very late at night.

GDI I want to try out Gridania and Ul'dah so I can decide what town I want to start in (not that fond of Limsa Lominsa)

dude, its a beta, honestly is it tat big of a deal? you can't wait for 3 weeks to play the semi polished product? I mean seriously, there is nothing else you could be doing with your time over the next three weeks than participating in a beta, that represents a shell of a game.

The game is open beta and there are still a lot of simple things that aren't implemented... and they bug me to hell.

Not to mention, they STILL haven't fixed the GPU over-heating issue.

So, I'm guessing there's a bunch of stuff they haven't implemented? It's difficult to find vendors with new, different, or better equipment. I'm a Gladiator and I can't find a shield, for the sake of fuck.

I enjoyed mining. It's a neat little mini-game, but I'm put off by the various ingredients one needs just to make anything. I haven't seen a place where players are able to sell their stuff, so I'm not really sure where I'm supposed to find some of these ingredients. It also kind of sucks that I can't locate any recipes for the first rank.

Nah its better, my 470 is running the game 10c cooler than beta 3, and there's still room for improvement.

In phase 3, newer ATI and Nvidia cards have a tendency to run at about 90~100C (which will shorten the life span of your card.) It doesn't seem to affect all the cards, and it only happens to some people while others are okay. Newer drivers and everything else updated doesn't help the issue, either.

I'm honestly not going to bother with the beta (or launch) if they don't fix it. Not going to have my GPU's life halved or worse. There was a giant thread about it in the dev forums, but I can't seem to access that anymore... But there's one on the eorzeapedia forums. It was the "Suspension" notification? It's pretty late everywhere here except for the West Coast, and I'm not having any trouble getting past the "entry" page, but after I log in, I see that.

So, I guess it's not congestion, but they really have suspended it. Q_Q
