How does any of that matter though? Casuals are just playing for fun, they likely really don't care about the non-existent race to the top. And even those who do should honestly chill out and realize that it's not a freaking race. If people want to get ahead, let them damn it. It doesn't hurt you at all.
People who power their way through crafting can theoretically wreck hell on the economy for others, but I just don't see that happening this time around. But again it's an MMO, which means it's a community game to played and enjoyed together with friends. There are no leader boards or any sort of formal competition so why freaking hold back the players who want to play more? What does the casual gamer gain, other than the disgust of those who want to move ahead being forced to progress at the same rate. Imagine if sports leagues started enforcing arbitrary handicaps just because one team or even a single player is better than another?
