Game Patching

I'm not in beta but I just had a concern regarding game patching. I hope they don't repeat the same crap they have in FFXI going forward and really hope they invest in some really good update servers (or have a lot of 3rd party affiliates to offer direct downloads as an option)

8 hour FFXI update (18,000+ files) ... christ ... even WoW took only 90 minutes with a bigger file. Both of these from a fresh install with the latest game DVDs (FFXI Ultimate Collection)

The beta currently has a P2P client that downloads very similar to how WoW does it. Will it be the same in retail, who knows, will it be faster than WoW client in retail, who knows.

Anything faster than what it is now I'd be eternally grateful for. I'm looking at this update and it's like ... getting there. I'm going to go to sleep and have to leave my PC on.

GOD FORFEND any possible electrical outages or Windows crashing or any other evil events happening when I'm asleep.

(It's been running for 6 hours now)
(Oh and shout out to HuskyStarcraft, he's made this tolerable)
