              Oh for the LOVE OF CHRIST!

              It finished updating over night but now it's giving me this when I go to log in:


              System Error

              Error Code: Windows 2

              The system cannot find the file specified.

              ffxivgame.exe(Windows2)

                yeap I thought so, that exe file is missing the last 4kb of its file, yours says 12.470 and it should be 12.474

                sent you a PM with what should help.

                  Wow. 4kb.... Man it's asinine shit like this just makes me want to rage on my PC. I was all excited yesterday about getting my beta key, only to have to wait out the entire day until this morning for the updater to finish and now this...


                  FML, I don't want to jynx it but with my luck next thing you know it will be up and running fine BUT THEN IT WILL CRASH ON ME JUST YOU WAIT AND SEE @_@

                    best way to avoid that, set all your game settings to lowest setting, but your resolution. then move them up one by one till you find what your system can handle.

                    oh and never set shadows higher then "normal" -.-

                      You should have downloaded the update with utorrent then pasted it in the game folder. for some reason on the game down loader I get 0-10kb even after adjusting ports but I get 60-300kb on utorrent.

                        thats odd, I was getting 200-400 average and I did nothing to my router *shrugs* I was always confused as to why people where having problems.

                          also if it helps anyone just getting codes.. instead of downloading and updating it through the game using the p2p system they are trying to do.. go into the 14 folder and you can get a program like utorrent (what i used) load em into utorrent and have them downloaded in about an hourish or less.

                          in the forums section they have a step by step directions in setting up ffxiv to be downloaded through torrents than through the slow p2p thing they are using.
                          Characters:

                          Caramis: Ramuh: 75 BLM / 42 SMN (work in progress)
                          Necross: Ramuh: 75 PLD / 75 NIN / 75 WAR / 56 SAM

                          Necross: Diabolos: 69 WHM (retired & gone)
                          Dinnin: Diabolos: 70 PLD (retired & gone)

                              could be.. the download through the system they were using even after i went through and made sure the ports needed on my router were open (which a couple were not) i still had really shitty download speeds.. then ran into a discussion on the forums about people that had tossed the files in utorrent.

                              i already had utorrent on my system so tossed the files in there and full download of game went from like 16 hours through the system se set up to around 45 mins in utorrent.
                              Characters:
