Eh? Where? Only thing that link talked about was what we already knew from the Beta, and how "AMAZING~" it looks in 3D. I want Gridania screenshots, damm-

Oh. Found it, then it disappeared and article no longer works. Hm.

Oh, the link is dead now. One of the admin on FFXIVCore said they weren't supposed to post the pics that were on there until later, they must have realised and taken it down. Funny that Core's preview is up now.

I'm pretty sure I'll be starting in Gridania... I'm a sucker for lush greenery. I was afraid Limsa was all the green we were going to get but that was a bad assumpition based on FFXI's starting cities with Sandy's forest, Windy's savanah and Bastok's arid lands

Man, I am loving Gridania. Started FFXI in the swampy grasslands of Windurst, I think I'll make it a tradition! Well, if Gridania is anything like it... ... it has trees.

Ul'Dah doesn't look as bad as I thought! I was thinking Bastok in terms of that emptiness - the city and it's view from the cliff really does it justice. Though I'll probably be singing "Arabian Night" throughout the whole journey.

And finally, they gave Moogle their old FFIII appearance! (Chuuuubbyyy!)

Re: Gamespot Updated Hands-On - New Areas and High-Level Play

The weird thing is the kind of hybrid feel of these cities.

Gridania to me resembles Windurst in terms of the natural surroundings, but is closer to what I felt San d'Oria should have been (a city tucked away in the forest) minus the fortifications. It's quite tempting to start there as the scenery is just lovely, and since I want to main Archer this time around having the Carpenter's guild nearby will help a tonne (Though Limsa has guns ; . ; )

Ul'dah is more like Sandy in that respect, with that huge freaking wall surrounding it. But then like Bastok, it's surrounded by an arid wasteland.

If anything, Limsa Lominsa reminds me of Jeuno the most. I think Ishgard will likely end up being the closest to Bastok in similarity, being another mountain city but we'll have to wait and see.

Ul'dah wasn't by the water like Basty, though. Ya it seems to have a mix of Sandy, the outside is a little like Basty, but it seems a little more open like some parts of windy's rocky regions to the north.

it's great there is an actual spot with a spectacular view of the city (like Midgar's cliff in FF7.) It seems to have a slight feeling of Rabanastre too! I wonder how the complete map and layout will feel like but ya Ul'dah is definitely the coolest of the 3 so far. It will be tricky for Ishgard to match Ul'dah's greatness, mew!
