That really is gorgeous. I hope I can afford a new computer to play it where I won't have to turn off weather effects (and thus, the clouds and stars in the sky). I pretty much always had to have the weather effects off in XI and it really took away from the game.

I'll probably play for a good while if I can at least get a PC to run it. Not interested in playing on a console, which would be cheaper, but meh. I'll just keep squirreling money away.

A single flat cloud layer? I wouldn't say it qualifies as the most amazing sky in history, FFXI did the same.

The weather effects in the video look nice though.

I don't see how having a pretty skybox in any way makes FFXIV a better game. Sure, it's a Square-Enix hallmark to have attention to detail, but for once I'd prefer to see them putting that effort into better gameplay and not eye candy.

I agree there, MMORPGs in general need to be about game play, then looks. Lets hope that SE does not completely forget about this.

jenova, I mean no real harm or ill will by saying this, but when you type mew, and nuuuu, and kawai, it makes me want to punch you in the face. Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest.

On topic, I don't think it looks all that great. I've seen as good in other games. I'm more interested in how the light from the moon will cause shadowing on the ground, etc. - stuff that affects your character, and other objects.

Yes I do too! Its so fucking annoying that J9 does it all the time, and I am REALLY fricken tired of seeing it!

But back on topic...

I like the weather effects... It looks REALLY nice. But I do hope they keep the gameplay first though, and not the weather effects.
