New classes? Probably the ones already listed in the data files that we've known about for awhile.

Most likely just some of the crafting and gathering jobs that were left out of the previous beta. They already confirmed exactly what combat classes we'll be getting so the only things missing from the 1st beta were profession classes.

I don't want tons of misinformation that would change at a later date when the game is released.

But by it's very nature, an MMO will be constantly changing. Even at launch things will change, and even after the game has been out a while, more things will change. The first few months especially will see a lot of tweaks, changes, balances and additions. Hell, there are people out there who still think you can't solo past level 10 and that race means something in FFXI, because they played it once a few years ago. While I understand you're point of view, in the end it's a fruitless effort because even after the game is out for a while things will be far different from what they were when it launched.

Its funny how some people still don't get that even after all the testing, any MMORPG will be hell on earth for the first month or so, at least. I plan on riding out the storm crafting, and getting a head start on making me some adventuring money ;p

I'm fully expecting a horror show myself at launch, though from my understanding, XI's launch in JP was actually pretty smooth in terms of actual issues and downtime. I can easily see XIV being far better then what I'm expecting.

But still, there's always something nice about being able to say "I was there when it started" which is often enough to overwrite even the worst issues if the game actually takes off.

The days of games being able to get away with being awful at launch are long since past. You just have to look at the fate of Star Trek Online, Age of Conan, Warhammer Online, Tabula Rasa, D&D Online, and as far back as Everquest 2 to find proof of this. If fundamental issues with UI clunkiness, speed of combat, terrible menu navigation, weapon draw delay, and Z-axis bullshit forcing you to walk around an entire map due to the inability to step over a 1 inch clump of grass are still present at launch then people will leave in droves. Very few gamers nowadays will tolerate the punishing grind of Asian MMOs, even the Asians themselves appear to be growing tired of it as evidenced by the fact over half of WoW's subscriptions are represented by that demographic.

Its why I stopped playing FFXI, just don't have the time to place on "the grind" anymore, I want to play games other then FFXI some times ^.^

FFXIV looks like it will allow me to play it a little here and there, get things done, and still have time for me to play some of my really horrible abominations in my Horror game collection ;p

I'm seriously wishing for capes... or at least a fashionable scarf or something that blows in the wind.

And if you want to see a horror show at launch, you might want to look at Darkfall for the worst launch of any game I've ever seen. xD

I've never understood the fascination with capes in MMOs. I'd rather have a nice crisp frame rate than have towns that look like stop-motion photography because there are a hundred players visible who want to show off a swirly cape.

As for the macros, I'll be more optimistic once we see exactly what can and can't be accomplished with them.

And I'm surprised that they didn't push the auto-complete/translate dictionary over sooner, since that part of the system should have more or less been portable directly from FFXI, minus all the game-specific proper names.

same here, but I am sure that the macro system will be changed a good 2-3 times before retail.

Same here. I never understood it. Some of them look fairly ugly too in other MMOs as well.

Ditto. I'm going to devote my 8 days early access to getting a massive head start on Disciples of the Hand & Land, maybe mix in some Archer & Lancer combat for fun :3

This "issue" we're having is not just due to kailea's intervetions, the fact that some of you like to perpetuate arguments just doesn't help.

At first I thought he was talking about Kailea too, but then I realized it might have been regarding someone not wanting to be in a linkshell (outcast).... maybe I'm reading too much into it.

Good god I hope the spell animations have more pizzazz.

You and me both. Been watching beta videos of Conjurers... And I was never really sure if that one pixel ball of light was actually the spell or not. <_< (I'm over-exaggerating, but you know. XI had the most amazing spell animations in an MMO I've encountered [back then], and I'd love for them to keep that up in XIV.)

XI had an AH issue when it first launched. Allowed you to dupe... :/
