Thanks Mal, I was working on a banner that had Bahamut in it at the time so to me it was Bahamut. It could very well be Ifrit.

Re: The 18 Disciplines of Final Fantasy XIV

      Well, the demon-horns & the fire make me think of Ifrit more than Bahamut;

B is usually much more, idk, dignified? Ifrit has always had the "angry beast" look if you will. Can't see any wings in that shot either.

And where did you see Asssassin? I knew about SAM, as they outright said it will be coming back in an article at Eorzepedia a while back but I don't recall seeing Assassin anywhere... maybe it will be the new NIN, or a hybrid of the two?

Not that I didn't like the job in FFTA, but too many of it's abilities relied on luck and I'd much rather see NIN be given a bigger focus on offense this time around, with the reverse for SAM; I want to get in the enemy's face as SAM this time. You know, Bushido and all that.

Yes, I saw that ages ago. But just because they are in data files it doesn't mean they will be implemented, ideas get scrapped or changed during the course of development all the time. Many of the names on there are just guesses and likely to be inaccurate.

          For example:

Harvester = Botanist but that list lists them separately.

But even then it still leaves Leather worker and Marauder (or miner if you go with BlueGartr's interpretation) missing of this this list of so called "confirmed jobs".

Other jobs are planned to be added, and maybe one of them will be a musketeer, but none of them are confirmed because some random dude spotted a 3 letter acronym in a data file somewhere, they're still just speculation.

            Off-topic, but wait. FFTA's Assassin was luck-based?

Viera can be Archers. Archers can learn Concentrate. lern2gamebreak.

If you're looking for "luck-based," that was Gadgeteer.

Just an FYI, that list Mal posted is woefully out of date. The current list of Dat mined job classes is this one:
              Dat Mined Job List

...which is based off of much more then "three letter acronyms". They're based on weapons which line up with classes which are sorted for inventory codes. There's also the fact that there are already active guilds for many of the classes listed but not in game. SE will be adding new jobs, and doing it via updates so they've more then planned ahead on what they'll be adding. They've just laid the ground work into the game already by adding the foundations for the future jobs they'll add to the game.

And Gunsmith is not one of those jobs.

I seen enough Donatello in ninja turtles back then, thank you (and Shaolin Temple 3). Staffs are still boring, especially in mmorpgs. Might as well switch to Lancer, at least their attacks look like they hurt.

Honestly, Donatello was my second-favorite Ninja Turtle, and unfortunately, I don't see Nunchucks on that list.

I find Lancer one of my least favorite/exciting jobs and it was my first choice. The one I thought I would absolutely hate is one of my favorites; Gladiator. Archer is also a rockin job but the arrows are breaking me and drop rates suck ass.

well, you know would be cool is a Nunchucks class. There hasn't been nunchucks wielders since the very first Final Fantasy (besides Selphie.)
Well okay they were basically monks that used them, but they could build a whole new class out of nunchucks this time.

Or they could, indeed, be Martial Artists/Monks, since Hand-to-Hand is already covered by the Pugilist.

Either way, the near-future of FFXIV has already been apparently mapped, and for the time being, Nunchucks are not in that future.

Doesn't matter very much to me, either way.

                                Maybe they will add Geomancer

                                and Time Mage next year?

Geomancer really deserves to be added to a FF mmorpg, they could make it work by having Geomancers absorb and "stock" powers they gathered when standing on certain terrain, That way they can use special geomancer attacks of various terrain types, no matter what terrain they are standing on as long as they stocked at least one block of energy when they stood on that type of terrain before.

It would be very unique, strategic and interesting! They could also be customized to be DD, tank, enfeeble, or healer if need be!
And different terrain types can be "set" to a specific effect.

Like if you are standing on a stone street, and you absorb the energy from the stone, you would have
Def Down (enfeeble), Crush (Damage Dealing), Wall (tanking/defense up) and Sooth (heal/regen) to choose from!

Maybe Geomancer could fit more in the magic category and have their own MP pool, that would save the trouble of having to manually stock
energies frequently. Or maybe there could be exceptions to the rule.
