      Well one thing I learned from the server names, stay away from the Sephiroth server. It will probably be filled with people I'd rather not be around.

          Same pattern as the JP Alpha and Beta tests for XI, villians: Chaos, Zande, Golbez and Xdeath were the PS2 testing servers. The JP PC beta was the first to use Summons with Glasyalabolas/Doomtrain.

          Wonder why they skipped Emperor?

          Edit: nah j-9. Everyone there would think they should be the only one on the server.

            except no MMO has to deal with 5,000,000 concurrent users. Even WoW has about what, 10m subscribers?

            EVE has about the same number of subscribers. I think their top simultaneous-online count was around 70k. FFXI would probably be about the same. It's not at all far fetched, just requires a very different game structure.

            Also, going with antagonist names was a terrible idea.

              Question 2 asks if players will be able to select the same server at launch

              * Tanaka says FFXIV allows you to choose your server at character selection. You can tell your friend to pick the same server. He notes it is always better to choose a server that is not crowded.

                  yeah thats relieving, after i heard that news before it give 2nd thought to buy or not to buy the game.

                  Just wanna ask you guys coz feel sad as i read some of comments from other FFXIV Reviews, the game don't meet their expectations in terms of gameplay and differences from the previous one FF11 and they gave it tons of negative rating. Or I'm just alone who is the only one enjoy playing FFXIV?

                    There are plenty of valid complaints about the game but it doesn't mean there aren't people enjoying it. I have my frustrations with the game and a big beef with the developers but I still enjoy logging on and meeting up with my friends and killing shit. I don't know if I'll be doing it long term though, that decision is for the developers to answer. If they fix some of these f'in issues, that have been around since the test phases, then that would be a step in the right direction and I'd certainly enjoy my time in game much more.

                      I have had fun and that experience is about the same amount as the other experience in which I want to throw my PC out the window. I know TGM feels the same way. There are nights where I feel unbearably warm because I can just feel the anger bubbling halfway across Eorzea as she's trying to craft at some distant camp and not doing terribly well.

                        LOL Tonight it was an AOE bug. I'm exping and I have AOE off since I'm solo. I'm killing a mob...X (Spirit Dart), X, D-pad over 2 (Thunder), X, D-pad back 2, X, X, D-pad over 2 (Thunder), X....AOE Thunder. W.....T.......F!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Die, respawn, wait for weakness to end, go back out and do it again. Several mobs in and repeat the above scenario. This happened a few times and I KNOW that I did not use AOE at any point, there was no need. It's hard enough for me to get decent job exp as it is, I don't want needless downtime.

                        Then I decide to do a leave for marks and guess what......d/c.

                          It's gotten to the point where I put the AOE hot buttons at one end so I don't accidentally hit it on lag. Even if you can bind to keyboard with the state that's in I rather use my controller and d-pad my actions.

                            Ya when I solo, I don't even have the keyboard in reach. It sits on the desk and I'm leaning back in the chair with my controller relaxing. After the first time it happened, I was VERY VERY careful every time I did cast......and it happened a few more times. I can say with absolute certainty that it was some glitch....unless my dead cat clawed his way out of his grave in the backyard and jumped on my controller or keyboard...or maybe it was his ghost getting back at me for all those late night gaming sessions when I wouldn't scratch him....hmmmm....

                            I don't know if its something that happens in a certain area or on certain mobs or what but I was outside Camp Tranquil outside of Gridania killing Fungar every time it happened.

                              I also noted other bugs including your stamina meter depleting to zero randomly. I would sometimes engage a monster and not perform any ability and still have that meter depleted to nothing before I got within melee range of the target. This has happen many times now and I cannot reproduce the problem consistently in order to report it as a bug.

                                Yeah I got this too and it sucks when you engage something you need everything you've got to defeat just to realize when you engage it that you're behind by 3/4 of your stamina meter >.>
