Re: Changes from Alpha to Beta

I'd love the ability to set up different spec profiles that you can switch between when in passive mode. Or perhaps the profiles could be dependant on what jobs you switch to.

So you'll be a 75% pugilist? Why would I ever want to play with you when I could hang out with a 100% pugilist? Do you not see the issue or do you simply embrace mediocrity and expect others to do the same? You can't be a 75% pugilist and 25% conjurer at the same time, so 25% or 75% of your stat points will be wasted at any given time depending on what class you are on.

The main problem is that people are still thinking in "FFXI" terms, and FFXIV will not fit those terms.
I'm thinking in power gamer terms, not FFXI terms. The cream will rise to the top in any MMO, not just FFXI, and aiming to be mediocre won't get you very far.

In FFXI, if you're looking for a DD and you see one MNK/WAR with levels 40/20 and another MNK/WAR with levels 40/15, do you honestly think the guy with an underleveled sub has any chance whatsoever as long as there are other options available? Their stats may not be that different, but his chances to get an invite vs. the other guy are not 40/60, they're 0/100.
