2929 on the High test last night. I think I might need to play on PS3 too. Still need to redo the laptop again, but I think I might've gotten 2400 on it the other day (Low Test).

          Re: FFXIV Benchmark

For those of you at work:

"FFXIV Beta to begin in one month

Our lovely translators have translated a recent Famitsu article from E3, where they interview Tanaka. Read the translated quote yourself. Since this interview was done the 16th June, we can expect the beta in early/middle July as long things go well.

Tanaka: The beta version we're showing at E3 is nearly complete and should be ready to be made public soon. Currently, we're still debugging. Once alpha tests finish this week and we return to Japan, we will begin preparations for the start of beta testing. It's not set in stone, but I think I'll need to make everyone wait for one more month.

Woot PC cant run benchmark. Tower is 4 years old, so I am not surprised. Not like I was planning on playing XIV anyway.

And that is why I'll never EVER buy a computer like that.. always buy the parts yourself and assemble it or ask a tech guy to do it for you... i spent 300€ (roughly 250$) on my current pc plus 150€ for the graphics card bought later on... it was awesome .. last year.

My GFX card went out-of-date real fast.. lawl.

Can you print screen the part that says you have to enter a code ?

Btw ii applied for beta even though my pc cant run it... if i get one i'll give it to someone i trust will contribute properly to development.

                Re: FFXIV Benchmark

I have no worries. PS3 XIV will rock.

Huge TeeVee, no problems with graphics and such obviously. Just gonna get a wireless keyboard and off I go.

                  Re: FFXIV Benchmark

Well, apparently I just need a new graphics card, and I figure by the time XIV is out the current really nice ones should have gone down. I can play it on PS3 until Boxing Day then snatch up a nice new ATI card that supports HDMI video out (so I can run the game on my PC but have it displayed on my nice 48" AQUOS)

Though, without a supremely powerful (and by extension expensive) PC I honestly can't see the PC settings being that much nicer than consoles this time around. And I stand by go F yourself to SE. $69.99 for a chance to play the beta? Not cool. I've e-mailed them, hopefully will get a response soon.

                    Re: FFXIV Benchmark

When I build my computer I am totally going to buy the parts suggested by friends, and then drag everything to my longtime friend Rob's house to have him assemble it. Because I am seriously a bull in a china shop with shit like this, and I will so break something.

                      My PC itself isn't that bad;

I've heard the 4/8 GB memory thing is an issue with windows not being able to properly read it or something, and other than having an outdated graphics card (nVidia 8600 GT) I have a solid PC.

Just need money to buy that shiny new ATI card.

If you have Windows Vista 32bit version, it can only use the first 4gb.

Not just Vista or even Windows, but all 32bit operating systems will only allocate thus recognize up to 4GB of ram.
As there are many websites all over the web explaining in human language why this is so, I'm not going to make a tl;dr post about that here.

I am hoping I can also test the PS3 version along with the PC version when beta starts, I don't see why I could not, but you never know.

                              - 64 Bit IS better as an OS because it doesn't have the 4GB RAM ceiling. Also, the vast majority of consumer programs are either 64 Bit compatible or have a 64 Bit version.

8 GB of DDR3 RAM clocked at 667

I play FFXI in 1440 x 900, and I'll probably play FFXIV on 1600 x 900. I downclocked my GPU because at 975 / 1285 I was getting graphic artifacts. Also, was running Catalyst Drivers 10.6

                                I can't run it.

Probably need to update my 6-month-old drivers or something crazy like that.
